Now now, don't get your damn panties in a damn bunch y'all. I'm not saying Deontay will ever be comparable to someone like Joe Louis. Just entertaining the idea that Deontay could potentially be a HOF/All time great, part of Alabama's mount rushmore for boxing.

Alabama is home to some of the greatest boxers to ever live. We know that Alabama has given birth to some of the best HW boxers to ever grace boxing.

Deontay Wilder is still relatively young in his career, 5 years in, hopefully many more.

Alabama's mount rushmore of boxing IMO

    Joe "Brown Bomber" Louis

    Earnie "The Black Destroyer" Shavers

    Evander "The Real Deal" Holyfield

    Soon to be

    Deontay "Bronze Bomber" Wilder.

    Discuss.

:patschWilder's name even in connection with those fighters is a terrible insult. After Stiverne knocks out Wilder I hope you stop these stupid threads.

Only thing deontay will be doing is cleaning the monument when he gets his new job as a cleaner

    Disagree

Wilder still has a ways to go in his career.

Louis got his boxing chops in Detroit, not Alabama. Alabama can claim him but he is a Detroiter.

Deontay Wilder does not belong on this list... I don't care where he's from. He can't be mentioned with the other 3 guys listed on this thread...

As of right now, that's 100% true.

But we don't know what the future holds.

I can see him being a force to be reckoned with and one day, I believe that he'll be mentioned along with those names. :deal

Have seen him sparr many times over on Schiff. Not very impressive. Although you may be right. I'm a lot more impressed with many other HW's now.

Wilder would be afraid to fight Holyfield even today... That's right, a 50+ Evander is still levels above the stiffs Wilder has faced.
