The Lewis uppercut did not spell doom for Michael Grant , the thing was that Lewis held him behind d head when he threw it multiple times , if Grant and his trainer were told about this new improvement in boxing , I m pretty sure Grant would have found an answer .
Pity for Grant who was trained according to the Queensbury rules !
Lewis vs. Grant under Queensbury rules would have been a totally different story.

Was always increasingly sporadic as the fight wore on. The Mike Tyson who constantly moved purporsefully and threw combinations for 12 rounds consistently I have yet to see.

he would kill dempsey! I dont see anything Dempsey could do get to louis like that. Dempsey is another one thats gets overrated H2H. When these old farts start puttin dempsey, louis, and other ahead of guys like Liston, tyson, lewis, Vitali on H2H lists I have to say something.

Bert sugar I remember was saying How dempsey would give tyson trouble. HAHAHAHAHAHAH BULL****!

Not all of his opponents were bums, but some were. Every heavyweight fought bums here or there. Every boxer takes a bite out of a bum sandwich sometime in their career.

But don't you see the outrageous double standard here?

You are making vast and far reaching allowaces for Tysons failings, but none whatsoever for Louis's.

Any loss on Tysons part, even a few months after his aleged peak performence, is not the real Tyson. At the same time, Louis is still picked up for minor lapses ion fights that he won e.g. getting dropped.

You can speculate all you want to about whether Dempsey or Tyson could have beaten Louis in a fantasy fight, but the reality is that Louis proved that he was the better fighter in the real world.

    Sure.

That reason is that they had the bad luck to share an era with the greatest heavyweight of all time.

Take Louis out of the picture and four or more of the bum of the month club become lineal champions.

Hard to see it happening any other way really.

Furthermore, listing his "prime" as including 1985 is completely ludicrous. Tyson was 0-0 at one point in 1985. By the end of 1985, he was 15-0 and his best scalp was Donnie Long (15-3, 2-2 in his last four). Louis obviously eats him alive.

He didn't really hit his stride until early 86.

Perhaps you should turn the criticasl lens that you aply to Louis on some of these fighters.

Liston swung the steering weel straight for the rocks, as soon as the title was in his hands.

Tyson lost his title to James Douglas.

Lewis got knocked out cold by a single punch from Hasim Ramhan.

Vitally Klitschko has barely beaten anybody ranked in the top 5 at the time.

All these guys are eminently beatable.
