Why is a punch to the back of the head not a legitimate KD? As far as gathering data about a fighters punch resistance goes?

ah yes but how many times did he get up? that is a more telling statistic. it shows heart which enabled him to rebuild his career

My mistake, I meant Williamson, if Steward can count them as legit knockdowns, why cant you?

Especially when said fighter turned his back on the opponent.

His only threat would be Wlad. I can definately see Wlad beating Louis, because of the stalking style of Louis. However, Louis could also lay him out, and I'll take the proven champion over the paper champion.

    :yep

It's a factor. It's where Klitschko is becoming underated. Punch resistnace is about beating the ten count and what you are capable of once you have done that as well as absorbing the blow.

But what worries me is how worried he himself looks about his chin.

Yeah... I agree... if we are talking about a complete fool watching the fight then you might be right.

Take a look at Wlad's face and actions before he was even hit by those hooks.

Is this what Wlad normally looks like to you? Do you think that maybe the entire HBO crew might have noticed something when they were talking about how exhausted Wlad was, and how Roy Jones was saying that Wlad was finished and had nothing left... before he was even hit with those hooks? Look at Wlad's expression during the standing 8 count... the same expression that he had BEFORE the hooks. Not out on his feet, the man cannot breathe.

Maybe it is you who should try and deal with reality?

If Brewster, Sanders and Purrity could turn the trick, so could Louis. Believe that.

Fair enough, but why is he on the canvas so much in the first place? I know he get's up, but in the face adversity he falters 9 times out of 10, IMO thats not what I consider a mentally tough fighter.

That doesn't prove ANYTHING, it's a typical WALD fan "grasping at straws" response. Frank Bruno was never counted out in his career either, does that mean he has great heart and chin?

I'll answer for you, no it doesn't, he reacted to punches in exactly the same way as WALD, only he actually lost to decent fighters.

Jones also said Wlad should retire because he has such a weak chin, and even laughed at how weak it was throughout the Brewster fight.

    I would LOVE to say "I agree" again...but it's a bit strong.

But if Roy is laughing at your chin, you know you have trouble.

If an old small Max could turn the trick, so could Wlad. Believe that.

See, this game is easy. Wlad is in his prime right now, and you are talkinga bout fights that happened 4,5 and 10 years ago.

graping at straws? i never said it proves he has a great chin but imo he has already proven his heart and will to win by recovering from devastating losses. how can u not see logic in that?
