Absolutely, totally delusional. WALD was throwing lefts and rights at 1:05 on that reel, and he only looked in distress after Brewster landed the punches. I'm dealing with reality, I'm not basing the guys chin on his facial expression for a start
Riiiiiiiight.... What does any of this have to do with Wlad's chin? If Wlad has a glass chin those punches would have melted him immediately. Just like they melted Golota, Krasniqi, and several others. Fighters with glass chins don't take monster shots like that and stay on their feet. They go down immediately. Especially when they are flat out exhausted and everyone in the world besides fighting weight notices.
The fact that Wlad legs buckled from a straight left that had no power behind it, in the 3rd round, was enough for Jones to draw his conclusions, which led him to say "He wouldnt want to get in the ring with me with a chin like that", Lampley "just too much power for him Roy", Jones just laughed and said something under his breath.:yep
I honestly can't even talk to you guys anymore. It's the same bull**** over and over again. Wlad is the best in the division... get over it.
I don't deny his heart, not at all. What I do deny is that he is somehow a hall of fame heavyweight on the strength of what we've seen so far. He's only got questionable competition on his record, and he's had 2 very, very bad losses against less than stellar competition. I have no problem declaring WALD as the best heavy out there right now, what I do have a problem with is people trying to proclaim him as a great, when it's extremely apparent that he isn't even close to that.
Punisher, keep on talking about how awful Wlad's chin is... you are making Peter look worse and worse. Peter connected plenty of times to that "china chin" and still managed to get his ass thoroughly spanked. I guess Peter's punch isn't all it's cracked up to be.
So I'm the only one in the world that thinks that was a legitimate loss now then? As for the glass chin thing, read my previous comments about Bruno, who never got counted out in his entire career yet was known for having poor punch resistance - and as I said before he lost to better fighters than WALD.
No one's saying he's not, but he is the best of a extremely weak division, that almost everyone on ESB could agree on. Everybody has there opinions, it just so happens yours is not the most accepted.
I don't see anyone on here acting like Wlad has already reached ATG status. Maybe you should stop assuming that people are talking about one thing, when they are talking about another. I never once in my life have claimed that Wlad is up there with guys like Louis on the ATG list. That is based on accomplishments that one has achieved throughout his career during his own era. We are talking about a head to head match, not comparing them on ATG status.
Whats really funny is all 3 of those guys were older than Schmeling was when the got their respective ko's. Even funnier is you dismissing the Purrity loss and saying Wlad wasn't in his prime, but using Schmeling to over Louis to enhance your argument even though Louis was younger than Wlad at the time of that loss. Your argument is weak.
Joe Louis was ruler of an extremely tough division? It was considered the weakest era ever. Well, once again you bash Sam Peter and you must consider him to be weak then.
Yeah, and Wlad had to clinch over 95 times to get through that night, not to mention experiencing 2 panic attacks and going down 3 times, it was a real easy night for Wlad let me tell you.:nut
I agree with this, he could do well against alot of these **** guys like Oleg or Audley but Wlad would be a huge challenge. He would need a big haymaker to land and KO Wlad. I think Vitali is even a worse matchup. I dont see him stopping Vitali who was never knocked down. Vitali never really had stamina issues either. I have a feeling he would take quite a beating to be honest.
I said the division as a whole, not Sam Peter or Wlad. You never heard me once comparing Peter to the ATG's, the reason being is because not only would he lose to most of them, but he is far from a finished product, you however continually throw Wlad in the mix with ATG Heavyweights, and always seem to find a way to make him win.
