The man would beat tyson, lewis, ali , foreman , klits, holmes , fraizer Holyfield etc.. The fights wouldnt even be competitive. Haye would do circles around him and flatten him At CW Why do people rate him so high? Boxing that then wasnt even close to what it is today. Im not being a dick but come on here guy. Even today at 200lbs he wouldnt have a title
Yea, really old fighters do seem to be overrated in H2H matchups. P.S. He would still beat Wlad though
11 years as champion, 25 title defense's and boxing was a different era then so whileif u transplant Joe in this Modern era were HW are 250 plus and over 6'5 in mosst casesyou are asking alot for a man who weighted 190 and was 6'2. And while the older boxers are legendary and i think most are overrated if they fought today with the rules that boxing has in place, its kinda hard to say a man like Joe is overrated because of wht he did in the ring and his impact on american society outside of the ring
Look at the guys he fough and look how loses they had? People cry about wlad fighting mormeck? Give me a break Bum of the month club that all im saying.
Unlike so many of the perceived heavyweight greats from the first half of the 20th century,Louis actually looks like a great fighter, which doesn't really provide a credible argument to the theory that somebody like him wouldn't be able to flourish beyond his own era.
What hurt me with Louis was him rolling over on his stomach and letting the referee count him out vs Max Schmeling without even taking a good punch..Joe Louis was a quiter when things got tough....
