:good precisely why Ali is no.1 for me. Head to head Ali may be the best heavyweight ever but Louis isn't close to the top 10 in my eyes just because of the era he came from.

 

There was so much betting/fight throwing/mob influence/racism etc going on in the time of Joe Louis that I really doubt the achievements of fighters in those times

To beat Waldo you need a fast, mobile and aggressive fighter who can slip the jab and can take a good shot, a mike tyson type of fighter.

The Wlad comparisons are comical to say the least, while I agree it would be a delusional to think Joe would take out Wlad and Vitali with ease the real true issue here is the fact that Wlad and Vitili where basically breed to fight and add that to the fact that they would have outweighed Joe by 30lbs + give or take 5inches in height and pure mass and theirs no way you can compare the two P4P or head to head. I for one respect the Klits but if they where 6'2 220lbs men like Ali and Joe would have crushed them. It is what it is gentlemen....
