Newspaper Article "Joe Louis Knocks Out Al Ettore In Fifth Round" The Evening Record (Ellensburg, Washington), September 23, 1936, p. 6
The last hook that dropped Ettore for good was completely brutal. Everything he threw was so tight and compact, maximum efficiency for complete destruction.
It's awful to watch. He feeds the guy a right behind the ear, they clinch, he keeps the right locked up, puts in the head, feeds him out to the distance he wants him at. It's just awful to see a guy get handled like that. What chance do you have? Louis was just a constant stream of physical and mental pressure and abuse. A terrible foe.
Was Ettore the "bum" who told the referee that he wanted to "take a walk on the roof" after that last kd?
