He went 6-0 Suzie THANKS TO THE JUDGES in the 1st Walcott fight, and being a power hitter, something Pastor and Conn were not close to being.

But like I said, if you tally up the amount of rounds Louis won vs your definition of the best boxers, its not a good percentage. Its easy to admit, Joe's defense, footwork and ability to deal with movements vs smaller guys are the reasons why when he had the height and reach advantage.

Weaver could punch, something Conn and Pastor could not and yes he hit harder than Walcott. Scheming could;t miss Louis. Heck fatso Tony G floored Louis and so did light hitting Braddock coming off the lay off.

The facts won't line up the way you want them to.

If you tally up the amount of rounds Holmes won vs your definition of the best boxers (spinks Tyson Holyfield Norton Witherspoon ).....it’s not a good percentage.

The facts did line up the way I wanted them too. Against the 5 best fighters Holmes fought...he only won the round a total of 44% of the time. If you’re gonna hold Louis too this standard, make sure you point the finger at Holmes too

I don’t see any clear cut evidence weaver hit harder than Walcott.

Both were around the same height and reach, weaver had only 5- 10lb on Walcott.

Consider RING magazine made a top 100 punchers of all time list in 2003. Walcott made the list at number 66. weaver did not make the cut.

Both had devastating left hook one punch knockouts to win there world titles (Charles and Tate)...I really Don’t see much of a difference in the power between the two.

Yes, schmeling was a very big hitter with his right hand. Louis took a lot of them before being stopped. Don’t forget, Louis obliterated him in 1 round in the rematch.

You call galento fat, but fail to mention galento possessed a very powerful left hook. Tony could really hit. He certainly was a bigger hitter than Renaldo Snipes who hit Holmes with one right hand and Holmes began doing the hokey pokey around the ring.

Consider galento scored 57 career knockouts including knockouts over the following men who appeared in RING magazine top 10

    Al Ettore
    Nathan Mann
    Harry Thomas
    Lou Nova
    Leroy Haynes

Louis should get credit here for taking a flush left hook off a powerful 233lb man

The Braddock knockdown can’t be any more embarrassing than Holmes being floored by the obscure Kevin Issacs?

How did the judges help him score a KO while down on the scorecards?

Was it like with Bob Fitzsimmons's wife? Was one of them telling him where to punch?

Billy Conn was the same height as Louis,Schmeling [not Scheming,] finished the first Louis fight with a closed eye and he took his share of punches he hit Louis with a lot of right hands a ton of them before he finally stopped him and he hit Louis after the bell early in the fight which dazed him.Galento had the power in his left hook to floor anyone he hit flush.Braddock was a good puncher ,he was no light hitter.
Its funny you consistently disparage Louis and have a long track record of having done so,now we are hearing from you he won fights because of his physical advantages.Would that not apply in spades to Vitali Klitschko?
I suppose it makes a change from your earlier assertions that Louis had crooked referees and judges and the mob behind him!

Pretty good effort, though I think the original is so ridiculous it doesn't need parodied. These both take it to a comical extreme, but you see people attack someone's resume pretty often on classic boxing boards, where they'll just only mention the least flattering information, and as if loads of boxers have resumes stacked with prime ATGs

This is a meaningless stat you cling onto since there's not much else going for Vitali or his resume.

According to this made up criteria for judging , Vitali would rank higher than Floyd Mayweather , since Floyd lost a lot more rounds over his career than Vitali did.

It doesn't factor into account that Mayweather never lost in a career filled with p4p level fighters , hall of famers , multiple world champs , whereas Vitali was beaten against the two best guys he ever fought.

The width of his opponent's waists?

That Byrd was a middleweight at the Olympics and Adamek was a Light Heavyweight also dampens the whole superheavyweight argument. But he's a H2H beast for putting up a valiant effort when he lost to old, out of shape and unmotivated Lennox Lewis.

I'll never understand some of the hype around Vitali.

Conn was 168 pounds with a 72 1/2 inch read. Notice how you leave that out! Not a puncher either, yet he staggers Louis on film.

In a 12 round match, Conn wins. Or he if played it normal, he takes the decision in 15.

You tell me if you think Farr won one round only, as Donovan scored it, or if there wasn't a scoring issue vs. Louis vs. Walcott 1.

I call it as I see it on film, and it's been proved you don't watch or are not very good at analyzing the films.
Bottom line, the best boxers Louis fought, outboxed him, often giving up reach and weight and mostly having less power too. No one is saying that is not so, and I used the official cards to prove it, which is not an opinion.

Vitali did not need a come from behind power shot to win any of the matches he won. Louis, out boxed, did.

    72and a half inch read?
Tell me how you can state who won the first Louis vWalcott fight and call into question the scoring when you have only seen edited highlights of it? Your reading of those highlights must indeed be superhuman!

Bob Pastor was stopped just twice in 65 fights, once,in the second Louis fight ,and once by Conn who floored him 3 times. As usual you haven't a clue.

The original poster clearly has an extreme agenda and his conclusion that Louis isn't a great is a nonsensical non-starter, but his in-depth (and biased) assessment of Louis's fights was a lot more interesting and worth reading than the usual generic hero worship, hyperbole, and platitudes.

Yeah, this is something of a "fake news" conversation.

Just because it is true doesn't make it relevant.

Under this "percentage of rounds won" thing you've concocted, quick knockouts are punished. Winning a fight 7-5 in desperate circumstances is LITERALLY better for your legacy - as you see it - than KO1.

    It's true, but meaningless.
