He wouldn't because he wouldn't? I don't see a trace of an argument here, only an ipse dixit.

Sure he could've. Conn didn't "run" nearly as much as people around here seem to imagine.

They make it seem like he was running the whole fight, when in fact, he traded and went toe to toe with him on many occasions

Yeah, I really don't get it. I often wonder whether people realize the fight is available on YouTube.

The first paragraph of that post relies entirely on the suppressed premise that Futch is a superior trainer to Blackburn, which is at best far from obvious and requires the support of additional argument.

There isn't enough meat in the second paragraph for me to bother with right now. Maybe later....

Jack Blackburn was truly a great trainer. He helped Joe Louis develop maybe the greatest left hand in boxing history.

Ali was fighting Frazier OFF of him the entire night. Joe didn't give him room to breath. Louis totally different style.

Norton "neutralized Ali's jab in all three fights. That was the main reason
    Ali hated fighting Norton.

I'm not sure there is even a question about whether Futch is a better trainer than Blackburn. What is your basis for even contemplating that Blackburn is of that same ilk? Shall we compare how many champions they've trained and those respective records? As trainer, that is surely the no. 1 criteria when comparing trainers with one another. Further, it doesn't only really on the extrapolation that Futch is better than Blackburn, and therefore....; it also relies on the fact that Blackburn, to my knowledge, never advocated a strategy to jab and double jab with a jabber. If you have a fight that illustrates this strategy, with commentary from Blackburn corroborating said strategy, please post it. If not, this whole notion that Blackburn would come up with said strategy is bordering on comical at this point, and therefore no, Joe Louis wouldn't fight Ali that way.

Even if he did, what on God's Green Earth gives you the impression he'd be able to jab with Ali like that? Which fights of Louis illustrates a quick/fast enough jab to counter Ali's constant pressure and distance with the jab. To this point, what about Louis' movement gives you the impression he'd be able to deal with Ali's movement? That is the biggest problem with this fight, is Louis' movement, or lack there of.

Exactly, I thought this was plainly obvious. Ali would be able to pick his spots MUCH easier with Louis than he was with Frazier.

This is all fluff, unworthy of a response. Trim away the appeal to ridicule and there is simply no content left. Dismissed, with a wave of the hand.

Once again, what exactly does Norton do that one can safely assume Louis couldn't do at least as well or better?
