Kinda like Joshua and his image in the beginning for his career. Not comparing their accolades of course, AJ doesn't deserve to be mentioned nowhere near Louis.

All athletes have agendas. A poster said athletes denigrate the records of athletes who bested them. I would argue it's the opposite.

Personally I think Ali would beat Louis easier than he'd beat Marciano. Louis always struggled against movers and Ali was one of the most durable men to ever fight so little chance of a knockout. Marciano was effectively Joe Frazier with better two fisted power. But I think It'd be more difficult for Marciano to close the distance than Frazier did. Simply due to the fact that Frazier had a better defence than Marciano.

Louis made a good point when he said Ali doesn't hit hard enough to make Rocky consistently back up but that doesn't mean Rocky beats him. Ali really couldn't make Frazier consistently back up but he gave him an awful beating in their first and third fights.

Marciano was a highly respectful and classy guy but I’m sure, while realistically appreciating Ali’s worth, that Rocky would’ve believed he could beat Ali - believing in himself just as any ATG should.

I don’t know if Louis truly believed what he said. Maybe. But then Ali dished on Joe so often I wouldn’t blame Louis dishing back a bit, even if he wasn’t being 100% genuine.

They caught Joe on the golf course, maybe he was thinking about his next shot more than anything else. Lol.

The Williams fight was in ‘66, some might’ve seen that as an unprecedented display of Ali’s power up until that point in time - though others might’ve put it down to Williams being past prime and irreparably damaged after the gunshot wound.

However, some 4 years later, an even older Williams was able to last 10 very tough rounds against Chuvalo.

It was very early against a still earlyish Ali .... rally think Rocky stops Ali easier than Moore or Cockell or Charles ?
