Assuming that Louis comes out like a tiger early as he did in the Schmeling fight, he has an immediate advantage because he can do serious damage to Frazier while Frazier is spending the first few rounds warming up. Louis doesn't have some of the physical advantages Foreman did (huge size and reach advantages, ability to roughhouse Frazier and fight dirty, etc) but his pinpoint accuracy and better handspeed may make up for some of that.

Ultimately, it comes down to how well Frazier survives the first few rounds and how it sets the tone for the fight. My guess is that Frazier would survive the first few rounds, albeit after have taken a pummeling, then come on and try to pressure Louis. Once that happens, it's anybody's fight, since even Louis admitted he didn't like being pressured up close.

Unless Louis lands the right stuff to get an early blowout, we're probably looking at Louis sweating out a close decision, but Frazier may take enough mid and late rounds to make up for his slow start. Would be interesting as hell to see.

Well, Frazier early on would be a nightmare for Louis as he pressured Louis and worked his body and head... However, Louis was a great rythym puncher who operated with both hands better and he'd eventually wear down Frazier for a KO / TKO somewhere's late after round 12..... A great war, but Louis was the better, more complete operator....

If Louis comes in as motavated and focused as he was for the second Schmelling fight, Frazier dose not stand a chance.
This is not a reflection on Frazier in any nagative way. However when Louis was at the top of his game no one his size or smaller stood a chance.

A lil' too zealous there, Ripper....... Frazier was miles ahead of Arty Godoy who went a total of 23 rds over 2 fights with Louis back in '40.... Frazier, tuffer and stronger than Godoy, gives Louis hell before caving in late..... Again, its Louis' great rythym / combo punches that make the diff over Frazier's wicked left hook and underrated right to the body..... Louis is the better overall two-fisted fighter.....

    Frazier.

Louis doesn't have the physical strength nor presence to keep Frazier off of him, at his preferred distance.

    Awesome fight. Absolutely awesome.

I see louis racking up a lead after 5 rounds before frazier's pressure starts to tell and maybe he's up after 11. However by this point the amount of clean shots landed by louis as frazier works his way in will begin to tell. By round 15 I think louis might even have frazier on the backfoot after a sustained beating in the previous round. Frazier manages to still get a big shot in and like a true warrior tries to knock louis out but ultimately falls up short.

    Louis on points here.

I don't think that a war would have a chance to develop. Louis would come out like a tiger and bombard the normally slow starting Frazier. When Louis caught someone who was right in front of him,and was content to stay there like Frazier would have been,he'd catch them again, and it would be game over.
Only if Frazier would survive the first five rounds or so,would a battle royal ensue, then any man could win it. Can't see that happening, though.

Louis - by third or fourth round stoppage.

The Louis of the 2nd Schmeling fight would beat an atg in Frazier. Too much sharpshooting and power. Just a case of one great fighter being a little better than another great fighter. We wouldn't have to worry about these men trying to steal a win by d.q. Louis by k.o. in 13.
