Let me get this straight? Said poster has been sending you private messages to avoid engaging you publically on the forum?
Thanks Greg, i appreciate it. It's great to have you contributing here BTW And you're probably not as nasty and straight as me
Cheers John. I know you didnt mean it in the context I initially read it, but for a split second, when I read you said I'm probably not as straight as you, I thought to myself "wtf has that got to do with anything and how can anyone be straighter than straight" ;-)
Oh gee, that was funny. A timely musical interlude? Like they used to do on the old series, The Young Ones? :- This content is protected
https://www.newspapers.com/clip/18707417/1935-04-21-toles-louis/ Found this interesting newspaper article from 1935 from the week leading up to Joe Louis’s fight with Roscoe Toles. No mention by the paper that it was an exhibition
And that's not the half of it. Careful tho, he said he's not banned here and can post whatever he likes when he likes
What did the 8 black men get away from at the end of the day? Probably some of them got away from featuring in a Joe Louis knockout highlight reel. I don't think that any of them, outside of Elmer Ray, were likely to give Louis a competitive fight. Unless we are talking about some sort of Tyson Douglas level upset!
It was a hit thread/witch hunt from the start. It's fine to question and dissect careers, absolutely, but not with this level of stupidity and bias.
The title reads like they were locked in the cellar chained to the radiators tbf and Louis was a serial killer who got caught.
