Ali no question. Ali had simply the best heavyweight resume & stockpile of achievements in history. Incredibly tough opposition, had to overcome severe adversity in the ring, more than Louis ever overcame in his whole boxing career.
It might be true, but Conn fought a lot inside and used leading hooks that surprised Louis. I don't think Ali had as good hooks as Conn and he didn't fight on the inside as often.
I have Ali no 1, Louis no 4,but I'm factoring in H2H ,I don't think Louis beats either Johnson or Dempsey. However nobody can crib about anyone picking Louis as the paramount heavy imo. His consistency and longevity is unparalled.
I think Ali was much more versatile in his movement, and put a total outclass on Joe on a late stoppage or UD. Then again this is all fantasy matchup, for all I know Louis could be a stylistic nightmare for Ali and KO him in the first.
Good point, when assaying who is the GOAT , most ( if not all ) of the pundits cite and recall the Ali of the 70s, with the wins over, Frazier, Foreman, Norton, Quarry, etc, I think they should pit Cassius Clay against Louis, Dempsey, Marciano, because if they did, they would realise that fighter was nigh on unbeatable IMHO, keep well.
if we are going off of record for hw louis is number 1 but then he really wouldnt be a hw in future years and I dont believe ether is number 1 sense im not brainwashed so ill not pick
