One of Joes best performances. Joes feet were so much faster in 1935 than in the early 40s. He was much more active with his jab. I tend to think louis peaked early 1935-1938. His three best filmed performances in my opinion are carnera, baer and Schmeling II

Love the way he puts carnera away with that last brutal left hook. Carnera was just way too slow, Chinny, uncoordinated, and amateurish for Louis

He changed his style for sure .. however if you watch the Galento, B Baer rematch, Abe Simon fights his combination punching is insane ..

He said he was at his best for Baer.Having gotten married earlier that day he may have been in a hurry to get back to his bride. After having seen photos of her, I can understand why?

Louis is such a pleasure to watch. Very economical but when he let's his hands go no one does it better as far as letting those brutal short combos go.

He’s the best of all time. And he did it against great opposition. There’s no fighter I’d rather watch than him.
