If nothing else, I do know roughly 23 better fighters than Joe Louis.

the thing with Louis, is you watch him fight, you watch him get hit a lot and even dropped and you just know Eder Jofre would have caved his skull right in were such a fight possible. It's a bit like the difference between Tito and Louis.

This has an effect on the man's all-time rating for me, as illogical as it is.Well, were i to bother doing one.

Foreman wasn't stationary. Bear, Carnera and the like are hardly comparable.

Ali beat far better fighters, a lot of which when he was past prime and had changed his style, he also looks far better on film.

When you have a record in fights for the undisputed title that only one or two fighters even come close to, I reckon you have a very strong case for top 10 p4p, not least if you beat several world class opponents that were much bigger than you.

If we were talking about ballet instead of boxing, how someone 'looks' might matter. But in boxing what matters is winning, not how it looks while doing it.

Joe Louis has the longest title reign in the history of the sport. He beat the stuffing out of guys 20% heavier and 6' taller than himself. He was probably the deadliest all-round puncher of all time. How can he not be a top 10 P4P fighter?

Funny how no one else managed to get even close to 25 defences in any division ever in the history of the sport. Dominating even a pathetic division, which the 1930s-40s was not, is so hard that no one else has done it so long or so often.

Small men are always going to be better at the sort of thing you are interested in. You think Jofre would move like Jofre if he were 200lbs?

You've struck upon a weird and interesting argument for voting for Ali in this poll though. Presumably you don't think magical giant Jofre would be staving his face in as easily?

If there was a heavyweight with the dexterity of Eder Jofre he'd be literally unbeatable.

Heavyweight with the dexterity of Duran deserves a mention.

A 200lb version of Tito would still get his **** packed in by Louis.

Imagine what a 145lb version of Bob Baker would do to Matthew Hatton.
