Besides those slow big hws he fought he also outweighted his opponents 70% of the time. (Louis wasn't known as fat so this is a reliable statistic to say he was the bigger man in most of his bouts), this certainly favours his own style too. (To fight smaller men)

I've posted a thread on classic once why Louis would beat Ali, after thinking about it again.
I don't think Louis stands much chance.

I think the reason why Holyfield totally dominated Qawi the second time , is because now Holyfield knew how to use his superior speed. Qawi simply stood no chance after that.

Hope my English sentences are atleast somewhat readable.

he put his punches together better than probably anyone in his era.

    That sounds about right now.

Louis was the greatest combination puncher in heavyweight boxing history and possibly the greatest in any division. Those that think otherwise should wait until they graduate high school before commenting.

i agree that he was the best but there could be a counter argument. not sure who you put above him at heavyweight but curious about other opinions

Lets list all of the world class 6'3 fighters that Louis fought and compare them to Tyson's. Because he was so much more effective at fighting this size of fighter apparently.

    Top 5 H2H
no order Tyson, Ali, Louis, Bowe, Foreman.
Its funny when you first watch Louis you think
hes primitive and stiff, but an absolute master
of strategy technique and balance, and dibilitating
power. He could be stopped, but Louis would prob
win every rematch by early knockout.

janitor, stop putting extra lines between your sentences - you're not saying ****. The comparison of Douglas to Primo Carnera is ridiculous.

Carnera's footwork is nowhere near that of Douglas, it's even worse than Louis'. Carnera really has no footwork at all, he's just slowing circling Louis while pawing with his garbage jab. He's not forcing Louis to reset. Janitor, I see that you have no understanding whatsoever of what footwork is, but can you honestly say that you think that Carnera has anything like Douglas' hand speed? I mean, seriously.

In general, Carnera has poor form on his punches - his coordination sucks. Carnera has a weak, pawing jab, and he often throws himself off balance when he throws it. Half the time it doesn't even look like a jab - it looks like he's playing pin the tail on the donkey or something. This is what Carnera's punching form looks like, except in slow motion: :fight

And that garbage jab is just about all he throws. Does Carnera throw a single combination against Louis? Show me a single decent 1-2 from Carnera. And of course Carnera's defense consists of little more than standing in front of Louis with his chin out.
