They were not too happy after the first Louis/ Pastor fight either, but that was because Pastor ran like thief all night then, after the final bell ,jumped up and down as though he had won .

So because referee Conn got the right winner, but by a different margin to the other officials in the Louis /Charles fight , are you saying he was corrupt?
Conn was a well respected referee, who officiated over some major fights, including.
    Tiger Foster
    Ali Daniels
    Frazier Bonavena
    Benvenuti Griffith
    Fullmer Humez
    Fullmer Lausse
    Fullmer Turner
    Graham Gavilan.

He is the only referee to have been the third man in both a Louis, and an Ali fight.
    You don't make sense.

Ruby Goldstein also was the referee for both.

Henry ,you are right, and I am WRONG , I took my information from Google, just shows you.
Goldstein refereed Ali against Sonny Banks,in which,as you know Ali was dropped. Thanks for the correction.:good

I am glad I did not put that up as a quiz question, it would have been very embarrassing .

My "Virtual shut-out" comment was right on the money. Having properly scored it this time, I saw Louis winning it 8-0-2. He dominated every exchange, and I didn't see Pastor doing enough meaningful work to win a single round. It was more of a circus act that anything else, running around the ring falling over himself and employing little more than half-arsed faints as the sum of his offensive efforts. Hoiw he thought he won the fight is beyond me. If anything, Dononvan's score-card was generous to Pastor.

    Round 1: Even
    Round 2: Louis
    Round 3: Louis
    Round 4: Louis
    Round 5: Louis
    Round 6: Louis
    Round 7: Even
    Round 8: Louis
    Round 9: Louis
    Round 10: Louis

    Total: 8-0-2 Louis.

I haven't seen this fight for a long time ,but from what I recall Louis was a convincing winner. As you say, Donovan might have even flattered him with his 8-2 score

If you say so, I'll take your word on this one. Does anyone have the scorecards of the 1st Schemling match?

Not to me. It was a Rocky Balboa like effort. Going the distance with prime Louis was a win itself, wasnt it?

Given the way he fought, that's probably precisely what his aim was.

Those were Pastor's instructions, go the distance and make him look bad it was a political fight.

pardon my language but what the ****?! that is just ridiculous. as bad as things are run now at least we're aware of how crooked promoters are and it's entirely out in the open. that kind of thing is mind boggling

Louis is my #2 all time HW, however i think a number of post 1960 guys would have beat him starting with Liston, and including current guys like the Klits.
