Given that the Louis v Johnson thread has resurfaced, I thought we might take a look at this match up.
The Brown Bomber v The California Grizzly Bear.

    How does it go?

The Brown Bomber stop's him in around 11 IMO .Jim would take a fair bit of punishment from Joe and soak it up but only so much he can take .

    Joe Louis by knockout

Jeffries come forward style would play right into joe. Jeffries was fast on his feet but he had average defense at best. He was also typically a slow starter. He would be a big target ripe for a sniper in his Louis. Louis would get his offense going early. A courageous Jeffries would last for a while but Joe’s artillery would be too much and he would succumb to Louis’ blows by the 6th round

    Louis KO 6

Louis would win, but I'm not convinced he'd get the KO.

20 or 25 rounds would be more interesting.

Louis beat the breaks off him.

Jeffries would have his moments with his aggression and sheer determination, strength, and give-one-take-one attitude. But Louis was the most technically sound puncher of all time, close to or even above a prime tyson. Hed win every round and batter and bloody jeffries to a stoppage win after dropping him with a vicious right cross counter in the 8th.

This would be like a tough alpha cave man vs an elite spartan warrior general. The skill gap would pretty much nullify the former's reliance on size and strength since the latter has both as well already.

Yes Louis was dropped many times but he was only actually stopped twice (in the late rounds) in over 60 fights, and both times it took dozens and dozens of sharp accurate power punches from elite fighters to do the job. You couldnt just land an odd wild hayemaker and beat louis, you had to apply tons of non stop relentless pressure to pull it off. Jeffries had the stamina and power, but not the accuracy, timing, or technique to apply the non stop pressure to KO a master boxer like Louis (outside of a punchers chance of couse), and you can obviously dismiss the possibility of him winning a decision lol.

Joe Louis, likely by t.k.o. late rounds, jeffries wasn't a skilled boxer but a natural born fighter, he always got outboxed until he finally catches his opponet with a big left hook, jeffries definitely could k.o. joe he stronger, hard hitting with a much better chin, but the majority of the time joe is going to wear him down and finish him with hellish combinations.

If they fought 10 times, jef would probably win twice

Jeffries can’t keep up with the lightening like fists of Louis.

    Louis by points.

Reckon Jeffries needs a longer fight to get into his groove. Don't see a fighter who survived battles with people like Fitrzsimmons and Sharkey among others getting knocked out. That could be hero worship on my part though.

Fitz was such a freak of nature he might actually hit harder than Louis. His alleged PSI machine score is pretty astonishing for a ~170 pound guy. Still, Louis probably picks Jeffries apart, leaving him a puffy, bloody mess after about 10 rounds.

Might look kind of like Louis-Simon, with Joe hitting him at will and Jeff conscious and able to rise repeatedly but not able to defend himself.

I think Jeff has all the wrong style for Louis,

Jeff was big and tough, so he might last a while, but I think this one will end up pretty ugly for Jeff,

with either a bloody TKO or simply collapsing from taking too many punches.
