I like the superior boxing skills and power of Joe Louis to prevail

but JF's non stop aggresiveness and head movement is something that never had to deal with

Louis by KO within 4. His all around punching ability and accuracy would enable him to nail Frazier all day coming in and finish him off. Bad matchup for Frazier, only Louis, Tyson, Foreman are clear favorites above Frazier in my opinion.

Tough one for Frazier as Louis was capable of a fast start as well ... have to go with Louis by TKO but Frazier could surprise .... keep in mind the troubles Louis had with Galento ...

Louis, late KO, after a good fight.

I like this match. I go back and forth, but more times than most I go with Frazier.

Louis was dropped by men that didn't apply the pressure and didn't hit nearly as hard. Frazier would have to walk through hell to do it though.

i think friazer would win billy conn was beating louis until getting caught at the end and frazier was a hard man, and an animal in his prime

Billy Conn and Joe Frazier have absolutely nothing alike. You probably couldn't pick a worse reason for Frazier to win than the Conn fight.

That is a poor comparison, but I'll save it by saying that the feather-fisted Conn, who is most likely the ATG with the lowest KO percentage hurt Louis....

The thing that hurts Louis the most in these H2H matchups is his chin. If he proved to have better whiskers he would undoubtedly be on top.

His chin is better than most people give him credit for. When you're champ for 11 years and defend the title 25 times as well as fighting numerous very good/great fighters in non title fights, you're going to go down sometimes.

You can't fight that many good fighters and not have rough spots, keep in mind Marciano fought a way over the hill Louis in his last fight and it still took him over 8 rounds to knock him out.

Have to go with Frazier. Louis didnt like spoilers, boxers, or crowders, and Frazier was the ulimate swarmer. Very good power, great stamina, and a high work rate. Louis is more polished and accurate but I believe there power is close or the same. Frazier has the better chin. No shame in being stopped by Foreman twice who IMO would have done the same to Louis. Louis was kayoed by far less powerful puncher in schmeling and buzzed and drop more often than Frazier. Louis will have success counterpunching and at midrange. But once Frazier gets smoking I see a late stoppage.

I agree with you in that one but would want to add Lewis and Dempsey to your list.

I don“t think Schmeling is that less powerful than Frazier. The ring has Frazier at #39 and Schmeling at #55 on their top100 punchers list.

Well but how often where they stopped? Beeing knocked down is not important.
