I'm with you on this,those you mentioned were big punchers and several of them dropped or hurt Louis.He was a very great champ but he didn't have an S on his chest. His chin was ok , not Chuvalo style but that is exceptional.

 

Conn was not under 170 when fighting for the title.

 

Wlad has 65 fights and has only been stopped three times since 1996. Do you think he has a good chin? I do not, but please answer that question.

Once again, chins are best tested when they are hit. I have told you this before, but we know your bigoted at times when the truth does not coincide with you personal basis.

If a 168 pound man not known for power can shake up a heavyweight, that heavyweight does not have a good chin.

Louis' weight was announced as 199½ and Conn's as 174. However, it has been reported that Louis actually weighed 204 and Conn was 169.

What you can say is any puncher than lands good one on Louis floored him. Those with good chins do not go down as often.

 

Didn't exactly say that, I said I didn't think he could have been stunned by a Billy Conn or Tommy Farr. The young Ali was knocked down by Banks and Cooper had him in a bad way, but Jones and Spinks didn't seem to buzz him much. The Ali who took Foreman's, Shavers, and Frazier's blows wasn't going to hit the mat against a Galento or Braddock.

 

B-Hop was not considered peak when he made his light heavyweight run but IMO he was a better fighter with better scalps at light heavyweight, he used his experience well, Big George was not considered peak in career 2 and he was past the Foreman 1 physically but Foreman 2 was a better fighter, more experience and recognized his weakness and adapted as well as he could. Schmeling was not far from his physical best and smarter than ever. The Schmeling of fight 2 was past it and riddled with the pressures of his country and personal problems. Prime has variables and is not always just the physical

You've seen fouls in two Louis fights ,[Baer 2 and Schmeling2,] that did not happen, and it's been pointed out to you by other posters that they didn't happen .

Louis unintentionally landed low in the 12th and last rd of first Schmeling fight ,I think he was nearly out of it by then.

"When I came around Roxie was talking to me I asked him what I was doing wrong.
I didn't hear a thing he was saying until he said I hit Schmeling a couple of low blows.
That made me feel even worse.I sent Roxie over to Schmeling's dressing room to apologize for me and to tell him I didn't know what I was doing and that I didn't intentionally hit him low.
Whe Roxie came back , he said Schmeling was real nice about it and he understood I didn't and wouldn't pull a low blow on purpose."
