Joe has the better resume but he's not bringing it into the ring with him. Who wins?

Tough fight for Bowe. He's going to get hit. But so will Joe Louis and he will hit the deck before Bowe does. Its a case of who can last longer and that will definitely be Bowe

Ehhh probably a bit earlier, with Bowe's defense.

Bowe needed a DQ to win against Golota

If Schmeling could outbox Joe Louis, Riddick Bowe shouldn't have any problems doing so. In addition to this, when Louis went aggressively early on the inside to get the early KO in the rematch, I'm not sure if it would have worked against an absolute master of the inside fighting in Riddick Bowe.

Riddick Bowe was levels ahead of Schmeling but at the same time it is unfair to compare since it is such a different era of boxing.

I have major reservations on whether prime Joe Louis would deal with prime Riddick Bowe on a head to head sense rather than a legacy sense.

Absolutely agree. Bowe gets knocked down and overwhelmed by the 5th at the outside.

Bowe would find, to his dismay, just how good Joe's jab was (in fact, I personally think it was better than Bowe's, though both had good ones).

Louis hit too hard and too much, Bowe never dealt with someone so holistically powerful and just plain excellent.

I have a higher opinion of Bowe here than most. I have Bowe beating Holy in the 2nd fight too
That being said I like Louis by UD
