Joe Louis vs. AJ who takes it?

Here's Simon vs Louis:

He's a huge, strong guy. He looks tough. He had a great heart. A true 1940's 'storm normandy' heart. Kudos.

And that's more or less his main positive attributes. Why don't I rate him highly?

His entire body is cumbersome.

His technique is ... not good.

He generates power through his physicality alone, because his punches are arm punches and slow. No kinetic chain. His jab - I don't know what he is doing with his jab. It's a real half-hearted jab that often seems to run out of ambition before it reaches its target. That's probably because its so slow you could write the opening chapter to War and Peace between the departure and the arrival.

Defense? Don't use that dirty word around here. He'll eat the punches like a proper 1940s man with a hairy chest ought to.

Abe "Mmmm yes, daddy, feed me some more."
Joe "No problem sir, eat these combinations to the kisser."
Abe "So good. Got any salt?"
Joe "Salt AND pepper coming right up!"
Referee "What a beating, LOL. Whelp, if he dies, he dies."

He does basically everything on a higher level than Simon. He's faster, more accurate, has lighter feet, pays attention to defence, and throws hard, accurate, fast punches.

 

Joe Louis Height = 6'1, Weight = 199 lbs.

AJ is 6'5" and 250 lbs

It is literally a big MOBILE SHW vs a small CW

An athletic mobile Giant vs a LHW (in other words)

No matter how skilled Louis is, AJ smashes him

 

While I had a laugh reading this, Abe Simon was better than Ngannou at boxing. AJ likely doesn't blast out Abe Simon as fast.

 

Ngannou improved drastically after his MMA stint. I will agree he was awful in the UFC. Awful but also awfully powerful.

 

Louis destroyed giants regularly and with ease.
