The Knockdown was not the crux of our differences.
We both agree on what happened regarding the essentials of what you term, the knockdown.

We both agree that Povetkin wasn't actually knocked down and didn't actually hit the canvas. We both agree that what happened was, by the rules of boxing, equivalent to a knockdown and could be scored as a knockdown.

As cross Trainer has pointed out, the difference there is one of semantics.

Neither one of us disputes the facts of the knockdown...we only differ in how to name it.



And again, for the umpteenth time, the KD or non-KD was NOT the crux of the argument and not what started the dispute.

What started the dispute, and what IS the crux of the argument, was your assertion that Povetkin went "life and death with Price."

That simply didn't happen.


One of these arguments (the Knockdown question) is not really an argument at all but a dispute over semantics.

The other argument (the "life-and-death question) is an actual dispute as to how the fight could be characterized.

As I"ve said, Povetkin outboxed Price in all five of the rounds that the fight lasted. Price did not win a single round. He suffered two knockdowns, the second of which left him out on his feet and flat on his back, senseless.

Thus, its should be obvious that the fight was not a life-and-death affair, but rather a one-sided destruction of the hapless Price.

 

I don't consider a fight "one-sided" if someone is knocked down while delivering the destruction.

 

Tbh he probably does even without them.

It's not like that era was much better than his own.

That's even worse. Holmes was hurt for like 2 rounds because of that knockdown. His legs were jelly and had to cover up or fight to survive. Holmes certainly was not delivering a "one sided beat down".
