Joe Louis vs Andrew Golota (Boxing Evolution Thoery)

I’ll admit that I do overuse the word “robbery.” However, it doesn’t matter how close a fight is when assessing whether it’s a robbery. What matters is what the viewers think. Golota, in most people’s eyes, especially those who know how to score a boxing match, won those fights when they watched them live. Forget some random fan’s scorecard, he won. It’s not a Spinks vs Holmes II level controversy because boxing had declined in popularity, even compared to the 80s, and because Golota wasn’t a beloved figure after quitting in fights against Mike Tyson, Riddick Bowe, and Michael Grant. Also, in my opinion, the scorecards for the Byrd and Ruiz fights were wider than in Spinks vs Holmes II, which was actually a closer fight

 

Louis was trained to fight 15-20 rounds. He was trip hammer quick and hit like a hammer with short brutal combinations. He could go from head to body to head effortlessly. His body blows were crippling. The best Louis obliterates Golata within two rounds.

 

Golota came up short in every significant fight of his career (albeit a couple of decisions could have gone his way).

I don't see Joe Louis as being a good prospect for reversing this trend.
