I had heard this fight was very dull and a big disappointment, but I had to make sure for myself. Stick around.

    1. Nothing took place. Conn moved but never threw. Nothing from Louis either. He just stalked. Even?
    2. Conn threw a flashy flurry early, but did absolutely no damage. Still Louis did nothing. Conn.
    3. Conn again moved around plenty, but threw very little and nothing of any value. Even.
    4. Joe FINALLY began to show he could punch. He threw a few jabs which caused me to award him the round. Louis.
    5. This was the most active round yet. Joe had a couple of barrages which were in his favor. Louis.
    6. BORING. Even.
    7. Louis.
    8. Joe was already taking this round, but a right hand caused Conn to buckle, and then Louis began his aggressive attack. The combo that put Conn down was a smashing right uppercut and a left hook. Terrific stuff. One of the most crushing KOs of Louis'.

    Final score: 4-1-2 for Louis.

Verdict: Absolutely useless as a good fight. It was awful. No action whatsoever. It only has value for the KO imo. It was a great Louis KO. From watching the fight actually, I think Conn had lost more of his skill than Louis had from time spent in the military, though Louis looked very bad as well. You know what they say though, power's the last thing to go. Watch this one for KO value.

I dislike this fight so much. Nothing happened. I love revisiting old fights and i have rewatched Louis-Conn 1 several times. I plan to re watch Louis-Conn 1 again. But i will never re watch Louis - Conn 2.

I am a huge fan of both guys. Louis is my #2 all time heavyweight and Conn is my #5 all time light heavyweight.

Conn was the more faded of the two. But both guys were gone. Its amazing how much 4 years took out of them. Louis was at his peak in the second Budy Baer fight but was completely gone at this stage. I suppose there is a huge difference between a 28 year old and a 32 year old, especially when you take 4 years off.

I have often wondered how Conn would have fared vs a young Ezzard Charles and Archie Moore during this time.

Yes, they would have been good.

Conn just shows no offense. I think he only threw one right. It was just circle and try a jab now and then.

Louis was stalking like he did with Pastor. As a matter of fact, Conn looks like Pastor in this fight. The quick combinations and left hook were no where to be seen. One can criticize Louis, but I don't know what he was supposed to do here with a man who wasn't even in and out, but only running away the whole fight.

Conn took all manner of shots in the first fight, but goes down and out with one combination here.

This fight was such a drop off from the first one that it goes down as one of the worst title fights ever, but it is probably more fair to just say it was pretty bad, but there have been worse.
