How does the """great""" Joe Louis do against this superior, evolved athlete with better training methods and better diet knowledge? I mean has Joe Louis ever even weighed 400+lbs in his career? Starts quoting LeBron James

Well I have been reading this forum a lot recently and some of the experts have exposed Louis as LHW who was frequently rattled by feather fisted punchers. His weak chin and porous defense coupled with his slow robotic movement and overrated power...well let’s just say Louis must be a clear underdog and is likely in over his head

Stupid thread. Butterbean fought 4 fighters weighing less than 200Ibs and KOed them all within 4 rounds. Joe Louis doesn't stand a chance.

What’s really sad is this thread now has more replies than Giardello vs Barkley and others that deserve more dialogue...what has classic become

I need to see some Butterbean shadow boxing videos before I make my decision. I'm
leaning towards "Fifty Ton" Butterbean since "Two Ton" Tony G put Louis down; 25 times that power certainly means something.

I hear this specific verbal formula repeated a lot around here. "So-and-so fought X fighters weighing less/more than [exact weight], and won/lost against them all."

I wonder who came up with it? It doesn't really correspond much with the way boxing analysis works, since most people evaluate fighters based on about a dozen fights against top contenders.

It was probably invented by someone trying to explain why Rocky Marciano would beat Riddick Bowe or something.

I know the feeling, I made a post about a really rare and obscure Archie Moore interview that had some cool info and it didn't get a single comment
