the telling part is that Butterbean was treated as strictly a four round fighter in his era, a gimmick fighter who was never a contender. Butterbean is probably better than Galento who was a perennial contender in his era. Just more proof that there is no equivalency between eras.

Well Butterbean clearly has the reach and weight advantage and the USA network's Tuesday fight fans will attest to his power. My only call here is someone is going down.

Ok....I've seen enough. Louis has no chance whatsoever. In fact I'd fear for his life.

TKO6. But Butterbean needs to remove the goatee. It's too creepy.

Galento was much smaller and was not as technical beyond a left hook and the power difference is evident.

Galento was a gimmick, thats why half of his opponents had at least one loss before fighting him, some had several. He would be another 4 round guy today, but at 5'9 would get pummeled.

Butterbean body was not made for endurance bc of heavy foot and high punch count, hes deceptivley fast.

If anything one could put him in discussion of hard hitters, though it would be based on 4 rounders against sub par fighters. no doubt based on how opponents went down he hit very hard as any 300 plus guy should ..the closest thing currently to him is Jarell miller and I don't see the same impact and that's a technical 315 pounder we'll see tomorrow...lol

Doing fights like this either Bean k.os Louis REAL early or Louis k.os Bean mid to late...so theres no way to actually break a fight like this down..bc its one of the two in which Louis would have to get the nod just cause he was a far better boxer but its not so outlandish when you actually use logic that Louis COULD be hurt by even someone who can punch outside 1930's and 40's.

Being serious here for a second, no.

Joe Louis and incredible handspeed and arguably GOAT accuracy, along with incredible power.

Valuev is 300+lbs and he doesn't hit that hard? Fury is close and neither does he

Louis would counter Butterbean hard and startch the starchman within 2 rounds

Also Butterbean was only 5'11", so what does Galento being 5'9" have to do with anything

Sure, thaaats why Butterbean didn't have any stamina...

It's not like its because he's 400lbs (200lbs of which is fat)

Btw Rocky Marciano was heavy foot-ed and threw more punches than Butterbean per round, yet he'd never get tired after 15 rounds

Valuev is SLOW and clumsy. Any big guy like that will hurt you if he connects solid.

Butterbean with little gloves on presents far greater risks for Louis just on style which is a swarmer, where Louis himself said he would lose to that style which is why he never said he could defeat Marciano.

Fury is 255 in fighting shape,he does have power he showed me that in a vid I saw, he just needs to apply it and his new trainer is emphasizing it and I saw that in his last fights which he was pulling his shots but much better form( most aren't paying attention ) its why im favoring him over wilder Dec.1st..

Being 5'9 at Hw with little technique is grounds to get pounded out that's what it has to do with, unless your a Tyson or Qawi HW is not the place to be and even then no one under 5'10 is going to win or have a successful career just NO against guys averaging 6'4 ...lol

Louis fought plenty of swarmers and beat them. He also predicted that he'd beat Marciano before the fight

Fury doesn't have power lol. Those videos are clickbait

Marciano was 185 pounds and was not a volume puncher every round why would he tire in 15 rounds ? Bean threw much more volume bc he had only 4 rounds to work with which is advantage to him..

If you cant show me actual punch counts you cant make the claim he threw more punches. If I get bored later I can bc I actually count EVERY punch fighters throw and see who won fights along with personal data.

Rocky Marciano has better defense then Bean who was there to be hit obviously but that's all, bc Bean would lose to either in all likelihood if it goes past 5 rounds and its bc he was around 330 when he was in shape....over 350 at times which for his frame is WAY to big to be his best.

The argument is probability of Bean winning and its not so low bc Louis chin never took a 300 plus punch with 5 oz gloves on so one has to consider ALL possibilities and we have fights of Louis showing it could happen, though I favor Louis due to accuracy and ring IQ.

    He wasn't though.

He beat men ranked in the top ten.

    He was a legitimate contender!

Why would louis predict he couldn't beat Marciano before the fight ? Your making no sense now.

Again your stating things without backing them up,who are plenty of swarmers he defeated who can punch ?

Yes he defeated Galento but he was floored twice by largely telegraghed shots from a lunging 5'9 brawler who again gave Louis a fight the first few rounds which applies here against a trained 4 round fighter.

Which proves how bad that era actually was in comparison to others having Galento in title shots..yes.

I'm tired of this debate, go back to the general forum

True Galento never knocked Louis down and Louis never made the claims he did not like swarmers crowding him ....

Continue in fantasy land on here..you'll fit right in...lol
