So getting outboxed for 12 rounds and then catching his over-confident opponent in the 13th means that he didn't have slow feet? I'm confused.

Reznik says it goes 6rds and that Galento lands more power punches on Lewis than Tua did, making it a tougher fight.

I say Lewis half kills Galento and it doesn't go 3 rds and if Lennie is in his Ruddock/Golota/Grant mode, it doesn't go past one rd.

It was a cunning plan, similar to Maxim allowing Robinson to wear himself out early on.:yep

It means he would be right there with them throughout the night waiting for his shot. I don't know how much you know about Louis but I can tell you that Louis was a very calm and calculating fighter. He set up his work. He didn't just throw everything he had and hope for the best. That is the difference between a champ and an average contender.

The difference between Tua and Galento is Galento didn't shut down when fighting guys who could punch back.

Stop. That is not survival mode. Survival mode is when you're getting beat up, and you're hanging onto dear life. What Tua did was not survival mode. You cheapen the term by associating it with this fight. He was smiling and playing with Lewis left hand.

Galento knocked Louis down, so who knows, maybe he'd knock Lewis down as well.

He put the Ring Magazines #1 puncher, and the longest reigning champ of all time on his butt once.

Nobody is safe from Galento. And by virtue of Galento actually trying, and risking it all, his chances are automatically better than someone who's heart is not in the fight. Period.

The best Louis stops Tua easily. He was just so many levels greater than Tua. Louis counterpunches until he hurts Tua and then goes in for the kill. Blistering six punch combo forces the ref to stop the fight. Louis TKO round six over Tua.

Galento would need a step -ladder to reach Lennie's chin
Putting Louis down wasn't a unique feat ,keeping him there was the hard part.
Tua survived to the last bell Galento would not ,and if Lennie fancied an early night it wouldn't go 3rds.

It's still Joe Louis. He's a world class ATG. Up there with Lewis, Johnson, Holmes, Ali, etc. Galento knocked him down in his prime. All things considered that's a pretty good accomplishment.

When Tua fought a world class ATG, he didn't give as much of a challenge.

No **** Tua survived. He didn't fight. Look at Tyson when he fought Lewis. He coulda EASILY went the distance just standing there, content in doing what Tua was doing the majority of the fight. But no, Tyson brought the damn fight, and kept trying to make something happen, even when he was getting his ass kicked.

Tyson got knocked out, but he fought Lewis. He had real heart, and pride of a champion. Tyson was charging in, grabbing Lewis, and throwing uppercuts in the clinch. He was constantly fighting.

Aside from one hook h threw per round, Tua stood in front of Lewis the entire fight. Did he not? Almost 0 output of punches for minutes at a time. He had zero inside game wit the bigger man. At times he was just smiling while orbiting Lewis lead hand with his head movement. The crowd boo'd his efforts.

A fight going the distance is not indicative of it being a closer match.

Tyson doesn't get a "UD" on his record sheet, but his fight with Lewis was 10x closer.

Nobody is stopping Tua "easily",that's why nobody ever managed it.

Arturo Godoy went 15rds with Louis in their first fight and 8 in the return, yet Louis stops Tua in 6rds? 183lbs Bob Pastor went into the 11th rd in their 2nd fight.:think

Take a look at Galento's record, look at the guys who beat him,and the ones who held him even .

Look at the records of the best men he beat.
When have done that, you'll know how good Galento was.
