Is there a problem with Lou Nova?

Galento isn't better than Tua but Tua isn't some world beater compared to Galento. I barely rate him higher.

The key phrase is .....the best Louis. Best Louis stops any lower level talent easily. Every punch Louis wants to land....he lands. Galento was only knocked down by one fighter and that was Louis.

There isn't a problem with him he was a contender for a short time in a poor era, his own resume is not deep. If Nova is your best scalp you are a couple of steps down on Tua imo.

If this was the case it would have happened all the time , and it frequently did not.

Galento ever fight Lennox Lewis, Michael Moorer,Ike Ibeabuchi,Hasim Rahman ,David Izon,Oleg Maskaev?
All big heavies who were excellent punchers.

Galento was rescued against both the Baer bros.
I repeat my earlier statement ,nobody stops Tua "easily".

Do you think Galento went through the same Matchmaking system that Tua went through?

Did Tua ever fight 9 times in one year?

Nova has quality wins over good fighters. His resume has consistency. Who is Tua's best win? Ruiz?

If Nova's era was poor than Tua's was on welfare! The 1930s and 40s wasn't a poor era there was just a dominant champ by the name of Joe Louis who is a top 3 heavyweight of all time. Lewis's era seems good because he was beaten a couple of times very devastatingly giving the impression that his challengers were high quality.

Again we are talking Louis at his best. Not on an off night, not an aged Louis. The best Louis gives Tua, at best a second rater, a horrific beating. Tua would not be able to stop any punch Louis wanted to land and very few hwts hit like Joe Louis. The beating Tua would take would be akin to Godoy (fight 2) as well as Galento. Lake of head movement would make Tuas head no more than a speed bag for Joe.

Louis at his best was Schmeling 2. He was determined to end it as soon as possible, as decisively as possible.

A cursory glance at Louis' challengers confirms it was a poor era,or do you think the likes of:
    Harry Thomas
    Natie Mann
    Johnny Paychek
    Tony Musto
    Gus Dorazio
    Al McCoy
    Jack Roper
    Were anything but second raters?
Would they have been credible challengers in the late 90's early 2000's?
Here are some rated contenders from the late 30's and early 40's.

    Alberto Lovell
    Johnny Adamick
    Andre Lenglet
    Red Burman
    Gunnar Barlund
    Otis Thomas
    Big Boy Brown
    Lou Brooks
    Harry Bobo

Here are the rankings in the 4 years of the 90 that Tua was rated in.

No he fought approximately half the amount of men Galento did that had losing records and he didn't fight any wrestlers as Galento did ,3 of them.
    Yup 1993!
