In 1958 Lamar Clark fought 30 times!
What do you prefer quantity or quality?

I prefer wins. Tua had the smarter matchmaking approach for having a better record. But we're not talking about who's approach was better. We're talking about why Galento has some obscure looking losses on his resume

I'd hazard a guess the reason Galento lost to so many third raters was because he was too lazy to train properly, and too slow and static to catch the fleeter guys with his hook. That and the fact that his own fundamentals were extremely limited.

Yeah, I would blame it more on his eccentric personality leading to inconsistent outcome, but it would surely help to know better if we did have the fight films.

It's crazy watching this fight and then seeing people carry on about how Tua is no threat to Louis because Louis would control the fight with his jab, movement, ko-power counter-punching, etc. and Tua won't be able to touch him. Louis got nailed repeatedly by a short, slow opponent who would crouch down and then leap right at him, with terrible punching form that left him as susceptible to counter-punching as humanly possible. But no way could David Tua do it. :-(

Wow you really have a habit of cherry picking information don't you? Here are a FEW contenders from Nova's era ASIDE from Nova himself:
    Schmeling
    Galento
    Both Baer's
    Godoy
    Rosenbloom
    Pastor
    Farr
    Mann
    Savold

These men hardly constitute a weak era

Lol. The top 90s heavyweights would have run through most of these men brutally and easily.

I picked the years in the 90's that Tua was rated ,lets pick the years in the30's that Nova was rated ,all three of them.

    37.
    Champ Louis
    1.Schmeling
    2.Farr
    3.Mann
    4.Lovell
    5.Galento
    6.Adamick
    7.Nova
    8.Pastor
    9.Toles
    10.Lenglet
    38.
    Champ Louis.
    1.Nova
    2.Baer M
    3.Pastor
    4.Galento
    5.Rosenbloom
    6.Harvey
    7.Burman
    8.Toles
    9.Dorazio
    10.Farr

    39.
    Champ Louis
    1.Galento
    2.pastor
    3.Nova
    4.Farr
    5.Schmeling
    6.Paychek
    7.Burman
    8.Toles
    9.Barlund
    10.Savold

Straight question which era is deeper?

    Now to your original statement.

"If Nova's era was poor than Tua's was on welfare! The 1930s and 40s wasn't a poor era there was just a dominant champ by the name of Joe Louis who is a top 3 heavyweight of all time. Lewis's era seems good because he was beaten a couple of times very devastatingly giving the impression that his challengers were high quality".

I've listed the contenders in the years of the 90's decade that Tua was a top ten contender they sh*t all over the 3 years Nova was a ranked contender and everybody knows it ,including you.
    Holyfield
    Lewis
    Tyson
    Moorer
    Ibeabuchi
    Witherspoon
    Bowe
    Mercer
    Vitali

I don't need to go any further, wipe your face,it's got egg on it!
