Louis is one of, if not the best puncher in history.

That doesn't guarantee anything. But you know what else he was? The most accurate puncher in history.

With Louis, you had a guy with the precision of Floyd Mayweather, but where every punch could take you out.

Luckily, we saw exactly what happened when Louis fought someone similar to Tua. He took his best shots, and crumbled the guy in 4.

At his best, a lucky shot doesn't win you a fight against Louis. You might knock him down, but he will get back up.

Does Tua have a chance? Of course. But in fantasy fights, you don't pick who has a chance, you pick who has the best chance.

And for countless reasons Joe Louis has by far the best chance in this fight.

In all honestly Louis would line Tua up at the end of his jab for the first round or two. He would use his mobility and speed to show Tua that he's going to get countered all night.

The realization of how the fight turns out will sink into the audiences chests when they see Tua land a huge shot in round 3, only to be immediately countered by 5 huge shots from Louis with Tua on the ropes.

Best puncher ever. With the accuracy of Mayweather.

All the Joe Louis hyperbole in forums like this make you wonder how anyone ever lasted more than a single round with him!

    It realy isnt hyperbole.

Louis WAS the best puncher ever. His speed, timing, accuracy and combination punching was off the charts. He could throw any punch in the book, from a myriad angles and make it a knockout blow.

As much as I love Louis, this could be a dangerous fight for him. In historic significance and skill level Tua's not on the same planet as Louis. But, Tua was a very big man in comparison to Louis, and his left hook was top 10 level, maybe top 5. I could see Tua stopping Louis in this fantasy fight.

People underestimate the skill of Louis. He is underrated as a puncher imo. He is the most accurate heavyweight in history, he is the smartest heavyweight in history and he is one of the fastest heavyweights in history. Tua has a big punch and good stamina big whoop. Show me a fight with an elite level fighter that he actually one.

Louis by knockout anytime in the fight.

Like I said, it's absolutely astonishing that any of his outmatched foes were able to survive 180 seconds in the same ring as him! How did they get close enough to land a single punch without being wrecked by his unrivaled speed, precision, and power? How does a 180-lb man like Bob Pastor go more than 10 rounds with him? How does a 200-lb mauler like Godoy go toe to toe and last the distance? Boxing is full of mysteries!

Well, SOMEONE has got to be the best puncher ever and I'm sure that fighter, whoever you have in mind, didn't put all of his opponents on a stretcher in 180 seconds. :good

Why are you so confused kevin?

Just because Jordan was the best, doesn't mean you scratch your head when the other team scores

Also what people are overlooking is Louis countering abilities.

That's what made him defeat all the punchers of his day. He not only could hit harder, but he was amazing at finding counter opportunities.

He would counter the hell out of Tua with his left hook till he set up the overhand right. Tua couldn't deal with Louis combination of power and countering IQ.

For all the Tua hyperbole in this forum, you wonder that he never actually translated it into results in the ring!

If I was arguing the case for Tua, I would keep quiet about Louis’s ring results!
