Imo Gene wins 7 out of 10 on this one, style wise he’d give Joe fits imo, that being said Joe could knock out anything.

Gene might look pretty good in early rounds. IMHO, Joe finds Tunney's chin in the 7th or 8th round. No long count. The referee tolls 10. Gene rises at 11.

Would be another Conn-Louis. Tunney looking good until late, when Joe pulverizes his ass into
    Bolivian.

Louis would probably need a rematch to beat Tunney. As good as Conn was Tunney was even better and was also as shameless as they come, so he didn’t care how a got a win. Once Tunney got a lead he’d stink out the joint if it meant him getting a decision.

You would have to install Louis as the favorite, but Tunney would be a very dangerous fight for him.

A lot might depend upon what tactics Tunney chose.

The Dempsey fights have distorted perceptions of his style, because he was normally a lot more offensively orientated than that.

It is not unreasonable to speculate that he would have made the same stylistic adjustment against Louis, but neither is it certain that he would have done so.

I don't think Louis was reckless enough to give Tunney enough opportunities.

Little Tunney with his none punch gets walked down, cut off and flattened in 7.

Tunney's punch was not something to be taken lightly.

If he was stuffing you, then you were going down.

Having said that, I agree with your prediction.

Tremendous battle. Similar to a Jack Dempsey vs Jack Johnson mega fight. Both guys have moments with the stronger fighter prevailing late in the fight.

    Louis TKO 12 Tunney

The difference being if Tunney found himself in front after 12 rds he would keep his head hold his emotions in check and continue to endeavour to box to a decision win.Tunney was ice cool in the ring, cold and calculating.

Tunney's power was a little underated ,imo and repeated accuracy can compensate quite a bit.

Tunney was a great fighter, but think about this. Past prime Dempsey dropped Gene. I am convinced that this is classic you can run but you can't hide. I am also convinced that prime Joe stops both Dempsey and Greb.
