Mullins has no incentive to make up a lie about Wills being asked to throw a fight. He's trying to make a huge fight with Rickard so it's not in his interests to **** him off.
Promoters who tend to fix fights tend to not make it public believe it or not so obviously there aren't lot of examples. This ex promoter claimed to fix most of his fights and claimed every promoter did it:

Do you have any idea what a primary source is? I ask because you haven't produced one.

"Schmeling wasn't in his prime when he ko'd Louis"

If this is true, it only proves that the term "prime" means nothing.

*When was Schmeling in his prime? When he was KO'd by Baer.

    When he lost to Hamas?

Or when he later KO'd Hamas and Louis?

This is ridiculous logic , because he lost2 fights he wasnt in his prime ? because he won some he was . The opponents had nothing to do with that then?

Schmeling was considered to be past his best when he fought Louis that's why he was the underdog ,stop trying to rewrite history to score points off me it makes you look silly.

So tell me about your logic,

"The opponents had nothing to do with that then?"

    Hamas was the same opponent.

Your point is Baer was better than Louis?

"Schmeling was considered to be past his best when he fought Louis"

And the Earth was once considered flat. Why is an obviously erroneous opinion supposed to be accepted as true?

Where is your evidence of a drop off? I would love to hear it.

I consider Schmeling came into his prime in1929 so, unless you think he had something like
7 years prime something is wrong here. The Baer that fought Max may well have been better than the Louis of the night that was kod by Schmeling. Louis did desultory training for the fight and was hugely overconfident, he was also slightly short of his peak. You have it your way and everyone else can be wrong ,how's that?
