Louis has all the power to take out Frazier, but I feel like his busy, come forward, Smokin style would be all wrong for Joe- Well, the other Joe. Not that Joe. I still kinda see this as a pick em, this could go either way.
Frazier is tough and gives Louis hell, but Louis wears Frazier down in the late rounds for a late TKO.
Eddie Futch would not let Frazier in the ring with Joe Louis unless it was for a final payday because there is no hope of winning it.
If Galento was landing left hooks imagine Frazier, Frazier would also be increasing pressure as the rounds go on, more than Marciano and with better movement, and Frazier had no problem getting in on Ali, Louis is not going to have any late round stamina advantage or be able to dominate the inside
This fight is dangerous for both guys, really imo, in the early rounds anything could happen. I favour Louis but with no certainty.
Could go either way. I believe it's been hinted that Frazier's style would trouble Louis greatly, but Smokin Joe would have to go through hell to get the job done. It is possible, but is it probable? I lean slightly towards Louis in a fight for the ages!!
I would wager Joe Louis knew more then Eddie Futch did about boxing - could he articulate it as a trainer? Perhaps not.
I've always wondered if Futch said anything about a Louis-Frazier match. I'm sure he's been asked an occasion or two. Edit: My bad, my "Eddie Futch is the master!" post should've had more sustenance to it...
