Lennox lewis had the skill level for sure. He's a olympic gold medalist and a amateur world champion.

Joe Louis is my favorite heavyweight ever.

Lennox, when on point, is the best match-up head to head. He maximized super heavy tactics (thanks, Manny) along with talent. His greatest weakness was lack of focus in preparation. Otherwise, he was an incredibly difficult order.

    Lewis UD12 or UD15.

The particular criticism of LL is he got " one punch " KO'd by " journeymen fighters.

Show me one instance on film of Joe Louis " one punch " KO'ing a half decent Heavyweight who was 6' 5" tall and weighed 245lbs.

If anyone mentions that lump of **** Carnera, they surely cannot expect to be taken seriously.

A fighter does not have to be as big as Lewis to be more durable than him, because Lewis was not an exceptionally durable fighter.

James Toney might have taken a better punch than Lewis for example, and Evander Holyfield certainly did.

Louis is not a great puncher because he stopped 260lb Primo Carnera, he is a great puncher because he stopped Paulino Uzcdun, Max Baer and Arturo Goddoy. These men were all far more durable than Lewis.

These thoughts describe my opinion of who would win, and why, pretty closely.

I would argue that a guy who faced as many punches as Lewis did and only went down twice in his entire career is actually very durable. I would also argue that getting hit cleanly once and being stopped, is better than taking a prolonged **** kicking from someone who has proved throughout a fight to be more skilled than you are.

Lennox Lewis would strip Joe Louis down in a huge missmatch that ends in the first or second round.

Lennox would keep him at range with his superior ability and hit Joe with the straight right that he's wide open to. if Lennox decided to change things up, he could knock Louis out with the left hook because he was wide open to that shot as well.

if you have a warped sense of self, pick Joe Louis. if if have common sense and have working brain cells, then Lennox Lewis is the obvious pick.

"Superior ability"? Bruno competed on even terms before his carelessness got the better of him. Now Frank Bruno is a better boxer than Joe Louis!
