Do you actually know who Louis was?

    I don't think he would last 15.

    Or 12.

I don't see him getting dropped by any single shot or even any combination.

Rather, I think the accumulation over several rounds of the type of punishment Louis could dole out would eventually take it's toll, and the tree would fall.

    Don't insult my intelligence

Of course, I know he was one of the greatest HW champs of all time - a boxer/puncher with great skills and very good punching power, for his size.

That doesn't mean an iron chinned guy 30 lbs bigger than him with decent skills, who took the best shots of harder punchers than Louis and was never hurt, much less dropped, couldn't last the distance.

It's not like I said McCall would win.

Plenty of overmatched guys have gone the distance with ATGs.

    Louis isn't God.

It's not a knock on him to say McCall could last the distance. It's just an acknowledgement of how freakishly sturdy McCall was.

Hard to say it depends on which McCall is in the ring his temperament makes the difference

But he either goes the distance which he normally could do....or he breaks down under the Louis methodical machine like approach and lightening fast combos

McCall should make it. It would probably be a very entertaining fight.

I think over 15 round with 6pz gloves Louis stops him at some point. Might not go down but olly gets stopped imo

When the bouncers drag me out of the nightclub, I shout:

    "Save me Joe Louis!"

I think there a few instances against Bruno, McCall could have been called for the KD.

McCall stayed close to the ropes and when blasted hard, would fall back into the ropes with all his body weight and stay upright.

For some reason McCall fought very stupid in that fight, and if it wasn't for the late surge/desperate comeback i'd have concerns on whether it was rigged for Bruno to win and set up the big money match with Tyson ! If i'm honest, I think he knew the ropes were there and just went with the momentum, I remember what your saying..Terrible terrible game plan by McCall. I think he thought he would tire Bruno out for the late round stoppage but Bruno willed himself on like never before and McCall was left with the choice of going for it or losing on points !

McCall would have lost the fight before the first bell, too mentally fragile to cope with someone as intimidating and with the reputation of The Brown Bomber.

Fight probably goes the distance or McCall quits in between rounds, his chin is cast iron enough to able to hang in there.
