Max Baer was 26 when he fought Joe Louis and Baer had been a pro for six years. I'd say Baer was in his prime. Joe Louis, on the other hand, was only 21 and had just turned pro 14 months earlier. The question should be how long does Baer last if Louis was in his prime.
In fairness, Baer did have a broken hand, but tbh I don't think it made much different in terms of the results
