There were these two fellars standin' on a bridge, a-goin' to the bathroom. One fellar said, "The water's cold" and the other fellar said, "The water's deep". I believe one fella come from Arkansas. Get it?

The medical definition of a pedophile is someone 16 or older primarily attracted to pre pubescent children. For 99 percent of human history it was common for teen girls to marry and for men to be attracted to them. In fact i recently attended a funeral of a lady who was 85 and she married her husband when she was 14.

Considering them children is a purely modern day western social convention probably less than 50 or 60 years old which at worst has no scientific backing and at best has questionable and spotty scientific backing. But if you doubt me look it up. Thats all i have to say on that subject.

Right the fact you are trying to justify a grown male having sex with a 14 year old girl proves what kind of male you are . The fact you are defending a male who beat up on a female shows what kind of male you are. You are ignored.

I think Sonny may knock Joe Louis down early. Then it gets dangerous. Finishing Louis is a whole nother story.

My gut tells me The Brown Bomber gets off the deck to stop Liston. Quicker hands, better right hand than Sonny.

    Not sure if this post is a trolling windup, on the off chance it is meant to be taken seriously;
Louis never scaled 181lbs in any pro fight.
He dried out and nearly starved himself to get under 200lbs for the Conn fight.
In 25 title defences he was only below 200lbs for five of them, his average weight for defences was 203lbs .
Patterson was 189lbs for the 1st Liston fight and194.5lbs for the 2nd
    Cleveland Williams was not slow.
Walcott weighed 194.5lbs for the 1st Louis fight and 194.5lbs for the 2nd.
Louis had a glass chin? Yet he was only ko'd twice in 69 fights, once when pre prime by Schmeling, a very good puncher and it took Schmeling12 rds and many right hands to do it.Once when an old man by big puncher Marciano.
Charles scaled 184.5lbs for the Louis fight.

Posters stating 99% of those on boxing forums don't know anything about boxing really need to up their game and do some research before arrogantly disparaging others, especially when they get so many facts dead wrong!
I expect this means I'm now on your ignore list too ,I can see that expanding very quickly! lol

When a fighter has the nickname 'Big Cat' that is a hint that he is kinda quick and agile.

Hi peeps, in my opinion Liston was the stronger man, he had a large reach advantage, a very long and heavy left jab and arguably had more overall power than Joe without being as accurate or a quick.

Sonny was also a rougher infighter than Joe. He was very good at holding and hitting, especially downstairs. I also believe Sonny had better overall head movement than Joe who was always pretty stationary. I reckon Sonny was harder to hurt and definitely harder to deck than Louis who was always susceptible to flash knock downs.

On the other hand Louis was faster with both his hands and feet than Sonny, had much better combination punching than Liston and was definitely a more proven fighter under adverse conditions. The Bomber also showed he had a great fighting heart over his entire career unlike Sonny. When Louis was beaten he always showed tremendous heart and he won many fights after being decked. Sonny quit on his stool versus Clay whatever one thinks of that fight. Louis never quit.

There can be no comparison made between the two as to who was the greater fighter on a historical basis but the fight is a toss up for mine.

If I had to put money on a fight between the Liston from around the Roy Harris - Cleve Williams rematch vs Louis from the Schmeling rematch I would back Liston but not with a great deal of confidence. If Louis could survive say the first three or four rounds then he would have an excellent chance.

    Cheers All.

biggest difference in the bout is corners. Love the Louis corner & Sonny has guys that maybe can hold the spitbucket. How often do we really see the inferior corner beat the topnotch corner?

How Liston got as far as he did with that corner is nothing short of incredible. Look at the other champs and their corners. How Sonny rose is a testament to the tools the guy had. Imagine him working with any of those top 50's and 60's trainers out there.
