Louis faced Ray 4 times if I'm not mistaken in exhibitions bouts and won all 4 including 1 by stoppage. Ray did his best in the first bout losing a close contest. Yes they were exhibitions but exhibitions in Louis"s time were often fought like real fights. In fact Louis fought Roscoe Toles in an exhibition bout that for years was listed as a professional win on his ledger just before his bout with Primo Carnera.
