Joe Louis vs Tyson Fury

Louis rallies a KO in 11 while behind on points.

 

Joe Louis has a great right hand and Fury is a sucker for the right hand, and has been decked and almost KO'ed by unknown Pajkic, Cunningham, and of course Wilder 4 times. Louis is also a great inside fighter, but i'm just having trouble imagining Louis fighting a guy of 6'9. And it's hard to compare Heavyweights of the black and white era vs Super Heavyweights now, and there's so much disadvantage in Height, Reach, Weight, it's like two fighters fighting 5 weightclasses apart.

 

That wouldn't bother Louis, he'd catch his man. I imagine Fury would befoozle him for some rounds, though.

 

I honestly don't like the Super Heavyweight's now, there sloppy and don't do anything for me personally. I haven't really enjoyed the Heavyweights since the end of the Holyfield, Lewis, Tyson, era.

 

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahhahhaha. Louis gets sparked in about 40 seconds. Not even close Fury by 1st round KO.

 

Exactly whom of any consequence has Fury knocked out in the first round?

 

Who has Fury faced that is as small or as light as Joe Louis? I respect Louis but he would not fair well in this era.

 

Steve Cunningham for starters. Scrubs like Zack Page who went the distance with Fury. Even Seferi lasted 4 rounds with Fury.

 

Fury was no where near as good as he is now when he fought Cunningham. Fury’s prime was from the Klitschko win and onwards.

 

Seferi was after Klitschko fight and Fury didn't stop him in the first round.

 

That was one of Fury’s first fights in 2 years and I believe Seferi weighed in heavier than Louis ever did for a fight.

 

You are wrong, Seferi weighed 210 lbs against Fury. Louis weighed more than that in 8 fights during his career. Not to mention that Seferi usually weighed around 200 lbs, Louis was clearly bigger than him.

So you keep mentioning excuses instead of admitting that you were wrong? Anything before Klitschko doesn't count, but anything after that doesn't suit your agenda doesn't either? How about 212 lbs Wilder knocking him down twice?

The truth is that Fury has only 3 first round KOs in his career, all against complete scrubs. He faced quite a few sub 210 lbs fighters and he didn't blow them all away. Fury also never faced anyone even close to Louis in terms of skillset either, Louis is far better than anyone he beat other than Wladimir, but Wlad was past his prime already.

 

Tyson Fury is hard to keep down, obviously, but he can be knocked down, and I think Joe would do that multiple times. I can also imagine Joe visiting the canvas once in this match up. Since Fury's never been stopped, I won't pick him to be in this fight either. I'm going with Joe Louis by a Unanimous Decision win. (IMHO, of course.)

 

There are really people who think Dempsey and Louis wouldn't be able to land on Fury when someone as limited as Wilder could?
