Joe Louis vs Usyk championship opposition

The short answer is yes, at his best be beats all those guys.

The long answer is "what are the circumstances?"

 

We have to ask over what time period, and what age Louis is.

Obviously he was in a pretty bad way at 38.

If you are prepared to insert those defenses, into the most convenient phase of his prime run, then all the marbles are on him.

 

He should clean house but I wouldn’t be surprised if he paid dearly for having an off night. The lot he actually defended against didn’t have the skills to take advantage of said off nights, Louis would need to be at his best for all of these.

 

Assuming these fights have good versions of Joe in them, I think Joe Louis goes through that group undefeated and has more stoppages than Oleksandr Usyk had. However, Joe did not hold up as well as Oleksandr at advanced ages for Boxing.

 

Overkill, i think he stops them all

 

I don't think Louis will do nearly as well as people are thinking here.

2. If it's peak Louis in every fight then he goes undefeated methinks.

 

Louis has momentary issues with Hunters speed but finds his range at some point, and when he does, Hunter doesn't have long left.

Mchunu, Huck Bellew, Dubois and Glowacki were the type of guy Louis would beat 5 minutes after rolling out from underneath Marilyn Monroe. He'd probably take all of their heads off in a six month period.

Joshua gives Louis some trouble in a good short fight, but there's no way I'm picking him to win. He's been hurt by too many guys with dimensions similar to Louis for me to think he's got a chance, and his size is the only possible chance he has anyway.

Actually, the same goes for Fury. Sure, he's got a different style to Joshua but he's another who has managed to get hurt by men half his size. If Cunningham can badly hurt Fury, so can Louis. Fury's a big target and he's only quick for his size - he's a lot slower than Joe. KO win for Louis if he's prime.

Briedis would be a fun fight.
