Do you see Jake Lamotta beating Louis? Size doesn't matter right? Whoomp, there it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8AyVhs3gJU
Problem is, Louis probably lacks the footspeed to close in on Vitali. And Vitali isn't the kind of guy to get KO'd in the few seconds he does get caught.
Someonea been watching louis v canera to much. Canera was **** all. Klitschko is a different figgter. To big and awkward for louis. Hate to say that as louis was better in most ways but dont see louis hurting klitschko ebough to stop him. Vitali stops him in a war late on. Cards are even at that point
At heavyweight size differences do not matter as much, at least concerning weight. Which is why there are not 10 more weight divisions separated by 7 or so pounds at the higher weights. The height and reach of Vitali would not be a huge problem since Louis is skilled enough to get close. Good fight and Louis may get dropped, but he gets up to punish and stop Vitali.
It would be like the 1st fight with Schmeling, except the ending would come sooner. Mis-match for several reasons...
Vitali fought two blown up cruiser weight types. Hide lasted two rounds. Norris, just one. Louis who often fought at or below 200 pounds would be at a disadvantage, and since he ( louis ) had slow feet and Vitali would force him to confront his size at all times. It doesn't take much imagination to see how this one would unfold.
The ONLY way Louis wins is if Vitali quits through injury. He is not his china chinned brother, so there is no chance of him being KO'd. He also throws far too many punches for Joe's output. VK by either late stoppage or very wide UD.
Vitali would be perhaps one of Louis's hardest fights because of his range and jab and ring generalship, but Louis had speed of combination, power in both hands and was very smart on the attack and i see see Louis getting to Vitali, open up a cut or bruise the eyes and nose and mouth...a rugged fight going in the the late rounds with both men bruised and some swelling but I think Joe comes on with speed power and short precise power punching in combo and variation to get the stop or a UD with a beaten Vitali in the 12th
You can never say that there is no chancer of Louis stopping anybody. He is literaly as good as anybody has ever been as a finisher.
Louis excelled against huge guys like Carnera, Baer and Simon. Louis only gives up three inches tops in reach to Vitali. This fight, like many, is determined by the ref and ring size … Vitali despite his record is no huge puncher .. If Vitali is allowed to jab and hold it is a tough fight as Vitali is a warrior with a terrific chin .. however I can see Louis using his own speed and cutting Vitali up pretty good .. despite his rock chin none one takes too many of Louis' punches ... it is a very interesting fight but I'd lean to Louis. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnN31a3hr7U http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXfVM-47A28 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_Jhd4CSZoo
these Big men were all capable guys and would do well today....they were more capable then Valuev IMO and Nick was not a bad fighter...they would have beaten many from the 80's until today ...Buddy Baer had skills just shared an era with a giant killer named Joe
I agree. Louis is one heavyweight who can say he beat huge guys. That said, I think Vitali is a harder fight than Vlad because he is braver with a better chin. He also has an awkwardly effective style and would gamble more. Not an easy fight for either guy, in my opinion.
