Just how much would you be willing to bet on Vitali Klitschko against Joe Louis? Mmmm...just in case somebody comes up with that time machine. :hey
I would beat plenty!! Most of Joe Louis opponents wouldn't even b considered heavy weights 2day! They would all b 2 small 2day with the exception of Primo, who was a joke and mob owned!!
For a poster who has been on this forum since 2006, I would think that you'd know by now that this argument pretty much goes in one ear and out the other on the classic forum....
Well a least most opf Joe Louis's oponents were genuinely world class fighters as oposed to the tomato cans that make up the bulk of Vitally Klitsckos resume. Joe Louis beat 31 ranked contenders and 8 lineal champions. Vitally Klitschko has beaten something like 5 ranked contenders tow of who were themselves former cruiserweights. These are the raw facts. Considering these statistics it beggars belief that people arguing for Vitally Klitscko would dare to criticise Louis's opposition. Indeed it suggests more than anything else that they simply don't know what they are talking about when it comes to Louis.
It is obvious that you have not done your homework here. The bum of the "month club" was a refference to a group of fighters that Louis beat over a specific twelve month period. Most of the fighters in this group were curently ranked in the top 10 by ring magazine and they were genearlay among the strongest challengers available at the time. Now Louis beat more world class fighters in theis twelve month period than Vitally Klitschko has beaten in his entire career. If Louis's oponents were bums then I hate to think what you would call Vitally Klitsckos by the same criteria.
Joe Louis KO Vitali?! Get the **** out of here! Lennox couldn't do it! No way Joe Louis stands up to Vitali punches. If Braddock and others could drop him, god knows what klitschko could do. He has the size, reach and a lot better chin.
I'm sorry to say that Jack Roper, Johnny Paycheck, Bud Baer, Abe Simon, Tami Mauriello & Billy Conn were either good or decent, yet over-matched and outta their class against Joe Louis...... Conn was a fine boxer, but also a true 165 to 175 pounder at best...... Louis parked lotsa' bums along the way, as well......... I just think that V.K. at 6' 7" tall and a rock solid 250 pounds uses his height and reach very well.... Plus, he also owns wicked power in his fists, too...... V.K ain't no oaf or bum with no skill or defense...... V.K. has his **** together..... He's a bad mo-fo........ MR.BILL
Conn,Schmeling, Walcott and a couple others. But the rest were bums! Vitalis opponents weren't the greatest either. Joe is 2 small and 2day would barely b considered a heavy weight in 2009.
This is not serious. If you can't see how superior Vitaly is too Carnera it's really a shame. I picked Louis by pts. Not an easy fight by any means, but I feel he would get to Vitaly often enough to win.
I have explained the history and origins of the term to you. The "bum of the month club" were by and large the best challengers available. The guys that Vitally Klitschko has beaten were not.
