The inches in height are not important to me. Louis was great, maybe greatest ever. Klitsckho isn't. Klit has not even established self as undisputed greatest now, let alone for all time. If he can unite titles, and hold undisputed title a few years, then we can have this conversation. (I know, we ARE having it!) :D

Joe Louis only fought a handful of fighters over 200lbs, there is no basis to predict he would be able to take any of Wlads shots or be able to mount an effective offense against him. Therefor the only logical 'prediction' would be a victory for Wlad.

Who was the biggest puncher Louis ever faced? Honestly, back then the Heavyweight division was a Cruiserweight division. Wlad is, or should be, a 'Super Heavy' by the standards of todays Heavyweights. He dwarfed Byrd and Byrd is basically Louis's size. Sorry, but this one is quite easy. Anyone picking Wlad to lose is doing it out of hate. would he win 10 out of 10? No. But he would have to be the favorite.

Let me ask you something. How great do you think these guys would be if they only fought Cruiserweights:
    Byrd
    Brewster
    Peter
    Brock

They would probably all be undefeated or close to it. This is kinda like comparing Roberto Duran to Kelly Pavlik on a H2H.

Wlad is a big heavyweight. And not just big, but also powerful, skilled, athletic heavyweight. Bigger than Primo Carnera, arguably hits harder than Marciano, and is much more skilled than Joe is. Plus Klit enjoys two football fields advantage in reach and about two heads differense in height.

Joe is a killer, and an ATG, probably the greatest of all time at heavy
head to head with Ali. But he is physically overmatched on this one.

And no, I'm not a Klit fan.

Louis, by late TKO. A tough fight for him stylistically (moreso against the current version) but at some point or other he'd catch Wlad flush and end matters.

Oh, you can't see the poll? :think

It is a disgusting landslide for Wlad. 237 - 1....and I'm sure the '1' can be easily explained by a noob trying to russle up a hot argument.

I remember a SRL vs Tyson poll being closer :rofl

Truth is, adapting the direrent eras, if Louis was fighting Wlad today, we would be talking about a 6'4, 230lbs Joe Louis, bringing all those punching skills and a lot more that came with the development of the sport.

I don't think he would be eating Wlad's jab all night long, in fact, I believe he would KO Wlad in the second half of the fight, in a very competitive and exciting bout.

Why would Louis suddenly get bigger? Are the burgers down at McDonald's that good? The only people who eat the jab are the ones who stand there and get hit. You don't have to be 6'4" to move out of the way.
