Wlad was beaten by 3 bums. Louis would destroy him. Letting Louis hit his body would be the worst mistake he'll ever do.
Unfair mismatch. Wlad mauls Louis in a onesided beatdown. Louis would get destroyed by most modern big heavies. Bowe, Lewis, Vitali, Wlad. Heck even a prime Briggs would destroy Louis.
I love Joe Louis. He was very modest but somehow had a radiating charisma. He really was a hero of his time. One could go as far as to refer to hix boxing as innovative, as far as heavyweights were concerned. He was probably the first HW in history to properly use a jab as a weapon. He used to completely overwhelm guys like Baer, Braddock or Carnera with his jabs and they had no idea how to deal with them. He was slow of foot but then he employed very precise defensive tricks like parrying and head movement. There were only two other heavyweights whom I would rate higher as far is completeness and smoothness of skills are conserned, those being Ezzard Charles and Jersey Joe Walcott. The fact that Louius beat them both speaks volumes in favor of how outstanding he was for his time and place in boxing. However one must bear in mind that every medal has two sides. Not only was Joe dropped numerous times vs inferior opposition, which gives us a fairly accurate view of his punch resisting shortcomings (not something he can be blamed for, mind, as chin is not a skill but simply a natural attribute), but he was also often outboxed by guys who could move and box very well. The most characteristic case being his alarming performance vs a much smaller and weaker man in Billy Conn, who came this short of taking his crown. Granted, he obliterated Conn in the rematch as he should, but the point still stands - he was losing a boxing contest and quite badly too. Now WK boxes very well and is a good mover, plus he is MUCH bigger, stronger and heavier. That is exactly the area in which Louis struggled - the boxing part - plus with Louis being the smaller, weaker man no argument can be made in favor of his simply coming on to push and destroy Wlad by means of brute force and power, like he did Conn and Schmelling in the rematches. That is simply not a very credible option. Considering all of the above, logic insists on regarding WK as an affirmative favorite in this fantasy match-up. Throw in Joe's mediocre punch resistance, and you'll be left with no other logical choice but to bet on a WK victory by stoppage. On paper at least. Just my two cents.
The only way Klitch can lose the fight is if he falls asleep through the boredom of jabbing the midget Louis at will. Just look at the size difference in every department, and as someone said VK is no Carnera. Louis never fought anyone the size of Vlad who possessed an ounce of skill, never mind the amount the Ukraine has. The amount of Americans who nuthug their fighters on ESB is embarrasing.
But Louis never fought big guys who could punch! Vlad couldn't kayo Haye who has a worse chin than Louis, but is a cert to kayo Joe? I accept Vlad's sheer size would give Joe trouble, the same as Buddy Baer's did, but Joe had every punch in the book, and was good enough to land them on big guys. I don't think it's a mismatch, but I still think Joe hasn't been surpassed even after 70 years.
Joe Louis is a bum? Possibly the best heavy of all time a bum? Can you work out a mind that thinks like that? He should be taken of the site for a lack of respect!
I think if Wlad went back in time he would defeat louis.Louis is ring magazine number 1 puncher and great finisher. If he was brought to the 21st century and had some defence training by Kevin Rooney ,I can't see why he would not win by ok.with a bit of modern training he would have faster foot work and more muscle mass as well.

For his day Louis was super skilled. By that I mean: Louis was a fighter with two-handed skills fighting a large field of competitors who only had effective offenses with one hand. If he was around today he would meet a larger percentage of opponents who can bring damage with either hand. Not to mention the opponents would be much larger and considering how many times Louis was on the canvas versus opponents who were nowhere near the physical strength level today's heavyweights are, his chin would probably be considered "glass" by the Eastside Boxing panel of experts.
It is really difficult to decide.Louis had the power to knockout big heavy weight. But he did struggle againest outside fighters. Those fighters were smaller than Wlad but also faster, some of them like Walcott ,Charles and Conn were possibly more talented then him.
I'd clean up on all you fools picking Grabimir *****ko. He would've been just another member of the bum of the month club.
Klitschko would win. Louis relied on his boxing skills and he's now up against a guy with a huge weight and size advantage who does exactly the same. Louis could possibly take it if he fought in a completely different style and tried to use his power to reach Wlad's chin regardless of the incoming. But that's hypothetical. Based on what we've seen, my cash would be on Klitschko. The only guys that truly beat him were equal in size to Wlad with either a lot of movement (Fury) or great speed and power (Sanders).
