Actually people like you are the ones who constantly push American fighters and overrate them massively. You're trying to tarnish the legacy of an elite modern fighting athlete like Klitschko by saying that some much smaller fighter from the times when Stalin was alive would somehow beat him. This is massive disrespect.

The way American fighters are overrated on forums like this one is a massive joke. Glazkov destroys his knee and everyone here has Martin as a top 10 HW just because he's American and has some belt. Now imagine if Americans had someone like Klitschko or Povetkin, you'd never hear the end of it.

It also results in these fighters having low PPV numbers and no hype behind them even though they're some of the most talented boxers in the history of the sport (Kovalev, GGG...).

People want to relive the times when 90% of big fights was Americans fighting Americans and then bash modern era as boring or weak with no rational explanation at all.

 

Klitschko did a pretty good job of tarnishing his own legacy.

Nobody think of Martin than anything other than a paper champ. The fact he holds a title is testament to how weak today's HW scene is.

This is a guy who said outright that he only knows how to throw 3 basic punches. And he won't go beyond that cos he doesn't want to make it more complicated for himself.

He said this with his own words on Behind the ropes for Joshua. Yet he's a top ranked title holder in todays scene.

That is because those two duck fights that would have done big PPV numbers. Its also because of the fact the era is weak and there are no worthy opponents to generate a large PPV audience

Because it was a better era , with much better talent and a lot more of it.
