Joe Louis is an ATG, but things are so much different today.
Joe would be in for the fight of his life and could possibly sustain serious injuries if he stood front of Wlad. Schmeling caught him with 20 big right hands. And to his credit, he came back to crush Max.
Ask Brewster if Wlad was the same fighter he fought the first time?.We're still thinking of him as pre-Sanders.
    Joe fought in the

era of boxing of all time and rarely had his chin tested. A great boxer, but susceptible to punchers. Other than Max Baer, what big puncher did he face?
Wlad KO's Louis with the straight right.

no one is denying louis's greatness. it's not an insult to him, if you happen to pick wlad. were just taking all things into account.

An old, fat and unmotivated Corrie Sanders had no problem avoiding the jab while made Wladimir Klitschko look like an amateur. Joe Louis had twice as much talent as Sanders and he would knockout Klitschko twice as fast.

It is easy to be methodical when the bums in front of you just stand there and get hit.

The guy ring magazine voted as the #1 puncher vs. a guy who has been KO'd multiple times and down even more. Hmm I think I'll go with the puncher.

That's funny considering it's coming from someone who's arguing in Louis' favor.

Who are you talking about? Louis was stopped twice and Wlad thrice. Both had been down? Louis had more fights though. 20 more fights.

Some of you guys are silly. We're talking about Joe Louis here not ****in Calvin Brock.

Put Wlad into Louis' era and he would be a weaker, slower and Joe Louis would knock him the hell out. Put Louis into this era and Joe would be bigger, quicker, harder punching and would knock Wlad out within 3 rounds.
