The funniest part of Elroy's rebuttal is that he said Wlad would have a "GOOD" chin in Louis' era, when WLAD went down by the WIND OF SANDERS' PUNCHES.

    LOL!!!

If you don't believe me, watch this video. ABSOLUTE PROOF WLAD went down from the WIND OF SANDERS' PUNCHES!!!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqEANlBbhsA

    Watch at 3:52.

And you're telling me a guy that cannot STAND being attacked and goes down without being punched has the mental fortitude to fight like Carnera did or others from the past who took LEGITIMATE SERIOUS PUNCHES by LEGITIMATE SERIOUS PUNCHERS, and still got up?

    LOL!!!!

You got to be kidding me. Even Sam Peter in the SECOND fight was making Wlad uncomfortable with his rushing attacks and his weak Joe Frazier impersonation. But Sam Peter is incredibly slow, stamina deficient and has terrible technique.

Imagine Tyson or Dempsey. Boom...game over Wlad.

Louis would do the same thing, hit him with one good shot, and finish him.

If a nobody in boxing history like Sanders has the balls to rush Wlad and beat the **** outta him, Louis would do the same thing.

Don't think Louis is a scared fighter like Wlad.

Wlad got brutally beaten by Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster. He also lost to a low level journeyman.

Vitali quit against a feather fisted middleweight who was 7 inches shorter and 45lbs lighter than him.

But you think Louis has no chance against them:patsch

Not sure what you mean. Wlad destroyed Byrd in 7. Byrd was a bloody mess after 6 rounds. It was a mismatch from the start.

Byrd was finished at that point, but he did go the full 12 with Wlad 6 years earlier (so he didn't get destroyed) and he also made Vitali quit on his stool just before that.

The point is that size isn't everything, Chris Bryd is naturally a lot smaller and a lot less powerful than Louis and also only has about 25% of the skills of Louis, yet he was able to beat Vitali and go the distance with Wlad.

He didn't get destroyed? :rofl Byrd was floored twice in the fight, losing a 120-106 decision.

Byrd lost every round. Louis has no chance.

Of course not, Louis has ZERO chance against any modern day champion.

What chance does a Chess player from 1920 have vs. a modern day champion? What about a 100m track sprinter? Or an Olympic style wrestler?

They all have ZERO chance against their modern day peers. Bar a freak accident the odds are stacked way too far against the classic athletes. It's not their fault, it's just a matter of 90 years worth of progress in their sports.

But you guys are saying Louis wouldn't last more than a few rounds with Wlad yet small low skilled guys like Bryd and fat, slow Eddie Chambers have lasted a while with him.

Look at Eddie Chambers at heavyweight the guy was short, obese, has garbage skills, is as slow as a sloth and no power. Yet it took Wlad till the 12th round to stop him which makes the claim that Wlad would KO Louis within 3 rounds totally laughable.

Wlad himself has poor skills and is very limited and has to cheat and pay off refs to beat bums like Povetkin, but you guys just don't understand boxing and can't see it.

Barry, you really must not think much about wladimir klitschko, well hey wlad got beaten by journeyman and golfer after all. That is all you need to know about wlad how you should judge him as a fighter. Things what happened ten years ago. No wonder you are getting pissed how klittards have nerves to to suggest wlad might be a serious match up for Louis.

Joe louis will be remembered level above wlad in history books no doubt about so calm down. But what would have happened if they fought un fantasy match up that is different story. I just dont see guys small as louis beating wlad unless you are mike tyson. Those bigger guys louis fought in his day are something like big guys today in euro sport show 'biggers are better'. :D entertaining big guys with very little of skills.

I did not read all the post earlier but you talked byrd seeing the final bell against wlad. Brought in my mind that we can argue if louis gets beat up for every round and loses decision or louis gets beat up and stopped.;)

Louis prob gets dropped in the second round, and dropped a second or third time as well.
However once Joe lands or Wlad makes a mistake the fight is over. Louis KO7. This isnt Povetkin here this is the best technician with power to knock out every giant in the history of the game.

    :patsch

So no fighter from the past could beat a modern guy?

Do I really need to type up loads of examples?

    It's just pure, uneducated ignorance.

You can't tie in boxing with other sports.

There has been no significant progress in boxing.

If that were the case, and boxers progressed each decade, then today's guys would clearly be the best ever in their respected weight classes.

But CLEARLY this is NOT the case.
