I don't know about countless, but there are many examples of fighters that can be called textbook fighters.

Yes, I can. Now let's see if you can properly place a transitive verb where needed.

Honestly, calling out grammatical errors in a post (and every post, for that matter)where you make them directly yourself? Your act is running thin, quick. I'd take a hike if I were you.

I've seen this video a thousand times and still is amazing to me how he was nearly flawless. I think of him as the greatest Heavyweight of all-time.

They say Williams was done and given the stage of his career and things that had happened in his life he wasn't at his best. Was he totally done? I'm not sure. Williams was in impeccable shape. It was only a couple of years later that Williams weight was fluctuating. Williams did notch up wins pre/post
Ali albeit against average competition but Williams was fighting average guys pre/post Liston and Terrell.

Williams was rushing forward, cutting off the ring etc I think Ali would have put on a similar display no matter what. It wasn't a case of Williams being done because Ali was putting on other master pieces i.e. London and Folley. Also, even if Williams was a punch bag, Ali showed what he had in his arsenal i.e. a body attack.

...And the ability to fight on the front foot at times (one of the few fights he actually looked okay doing it).

    :good

The thread is about Louise technique/skills. Not all of his technique was text book and he wasn't a complete fighter. The first picture Monte shows is to display a text book stance but that is not true.

I agree Louis was not a plodder. He did have decent footwork and a frightening arsenal of punches.

My point about Floyd is I can show you nearly everything Louis has done but I can show it in one fight, not a highlight of a whole career. Louis was often inconsistent with his performance but he was so devastating that it often solved matters. The odd performance like Baer and Godoy are standouts which should be viewed to show what Louis could do.

Ali also fights on the front foot v Mildenberger. Ali was not great going forward but Louis wasn't amazing at it either. Even Liston couldn't cut off the ring properly.

Heavyweights are just a poor standard of boxing.
