Omfg Buddy = Valuev with no jaw. Even worst. He is slow as **** and cant keep distance. It's COMPLETELY different level.

 

Louis would have been knocked out against both of them. Comparing either brother to Carnera is disgraceful.

Lewis would have had happened to him what happened to every other smaller fighter that fights the brothers. He would have trouble getting inside and being tagged constantly trying to rush forward.

He would make it a good scrap, although they both would knock him out before the 9th.


Ali is a much more difficult style matchup.

im not a klit nuthugger but carnera and both baers sucked at life in boxing. even though wlad's chin sucks hes got alot of skills.

Those big guys of 40's and 50's like Canera and Baer are nothing like the top big guys of the modern era, you look at Buddy Baer in that video and he isnt even using his reach, he is trying to fight Louis on the inside and he was painfully slow, I'm not saying Louis would lose to the Klitschko's but the big guys are more atheltic these days.

 

Good point. Carnera had pretty good skills, but Baer, like his brother, was awful. Just very big and strong for his day, but nothing special today.

That said, Louis could probably beat both Klitschko's, but they'd be very hard fights.

 

I think he would beat Wlad pretty easily. But if Vitali got reckless and started to throw his desperate straight rights out of desperation it could be a bad night for Joe Louis.

Louis would have wiped clean the heavyweight division. What, you think there weren't big guys back then?

Not only did you have big guys, but you had guys that actually worked for a living, so they were strong, tough, and athletic. Not to mention the fact that society was going through hard times, and that made a man tougher knowing that he was fighting in an era were people wanted to see blood.

It's just that the guys that were big couldn't compete with Jersey Joe Walcott, Joe Louise, Ezzard Charles, and Rocky Marciano. You had some that were very good like Max Baer, but it was mostly the short, fast, compact fighters or the ultra slick boxers that were versatile and hard hitting that were the best of the era.

That was probably one of the toughest eras in modern boxing history, so of course Louis would blow them away, as would Rocky Marciano, and other fighters that had the skillset and style to beat them. Even Joe Louis, as good and versatile as he was could be beaten, and the Klitschko's have already been beaten, and Wladimir by weak competition.

Louis wins.

 

Not that a disagree with your opinion on the outcome but
I disagree with the comment about fighters having to work for a living
as being a reason for them being better....a lot of modern fighters
are full time proffesional athletes (ok im not on about the peters or the toneys) not part time boxers.

And yea they had big guys, but seriously do you think Buddy Baer, Abe Simon and Canera are anywhere near as skilled or as athletic as the likes of the Klitschko's?
